Proximity to Sovereign Hill and character of the property. Rm 56 was large and looked out over lawn to Sovereign Hill. Very convenient for evening show “Aura” at Sovereign Hill.

Many gorgeous hotels.

Ballarat is terrific.
Ballarat is terrific. Full of history, culture and shopping. Lake Wendouree and the Botanic gardens are always a delight. Lunch at Craigs Hotel Atrium was very special and a good price. The Gallery always has something new to see as the exhibits change often. Eureka Stockade museum is a really good exhibition and tells the story of the Rebellion. The King Bakery on Sturt street has THE BEST vanilla slices and meat pies. Yellow Espresso next door does a great coffee too. Op shops are well situated. Messer & Opie is a really nice Men's & Women's clothing shop in the Bridge street Mall. Although Ballarat is more hilly than you'd think walking around the area is still easy.

I would have liked to have walked in the downtown area but I didn't know how to pay for parking.
The main purpose of being in Ballarat was to visit Sovereign Hill which we could have spent so much more time at. This was better than we had expected.
Friendly staff, great performances and there was a feeling of going back to different times in history.

Ballarat is a historical gem, it reeks of history everywhere you go and is easy to get around. The restaurants, cafes, pubs and people we met were all great. We have been several times now and we will go back as the region has plenty to offer . If you go in winter, rug up.

Sovereign Hill was excellent, well worth it.
Sovereign Hill was excellent, well worth it. More information for travellers who come on the train would be useful, about public transport Food good in Nolan’s, but quiet, excellent meal in Meigas

Loved the pool, one of the nicest pools I’ve been in , the staff around the motel were super friendly and the food and pub connected was amazing , we thought we’d try it on day 1 and assumed we’d try other places to eat but we returned breakfast, lunch and dinner all weekend , loved it and had a great atmosphere for drinks too . To top it all of checkout was 11am not 10am like all the 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in . Highly recommend this place if you want to stay in Ballarat as the value for money is outstanding
Beds were pretty comfortable and the set up was suitable for a young family (1 king bed, 2x singles). The bathroom towels were great - size was very large and all the towels were very clean.
Room and bathroom were generally very clean.
Didn't use the facilities like the microwave but could see it being handy. Hairdryer in bathroom was useful. We actually didn't use the heating or cooling; the room was very temperate.
The location was really great though; short walk to lots of shops and restaurants.
I cannot fault this place. We’ve been on the road for almost a month and stayed in a number of places. This has been our favourite! The house is beautiful, comfortable and very clean. It’s in an excellent location.
They went above and beyond by having a well stocked panty with the basics, plus milk in the fridge and a coffee machine.
Excellent communication from the owner. If we come back to Ballarat we will absolutely stay here!
The room was amazing, bed super comfortable and bathroom clean and large, the location close to many shops.
I was unable to stay the full booking due to unforeseen events back in Mel and had to leave early, the hotel were very understanding and refunded the day I wouldn't be in Ballarat, they even posted a charger I left in the room back to me. Excellent Service! will recommend the hotel to others and stay when I go back to Ballarat.
I have to travel to Ballarat a lot for family reasons, and Sovereign Park is is one of the most reliable stays. Sometimes the rates are high, and often availability is low because it is so popular, but I always check here first because my stay is ALWAYS comfortable and easy, the rooms are always clean and well appointed, and there are never any disappointing surprises like a hard pillow, a stained blanket or sink or dirty window.
The hotel is simply superb in every way and rare to find, from the warm welcome we received, the breakfasts and the hospitality we were shown. The owners have created a paradise in what was just an old building. We would recommend Hotel Vera to anyone travelling to the Ballarat region.
I was upgraded to a family room which was quite large and had a queen bed and a full bed. The bathroom had just been upgraded so very large, modern, walk in shower with plenty of hot water, comfortable bed. In this price range the motel is a good value.
We liked the size of the apartment for our family. The heating was excellent. Plenty of blankets for everyone. The tea/coffee provisions were generous. The included breakfast provisions were handy for the kids too.
The house is spacious and well appointed. It’s in a great location with a great cafe, charming pub and wood fired pizza joint within a block and the Ballarat station and CBD an easy 12-15 minute walk.
Great location, easy check-in process and well appointed room for a single night. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the ease of accessing central Ballarat sights and venues from the hotel.
