The hotel is just stunning, love the room layout and decor, i was absolutely mesmerized, so were my children. They had the best time.
The location is perfect, walking distance to the city centre and park/roman gardens.
The staff were so welcoming, especially to my children, sometimes it can be overwhelming travelling with children so they really put me at ease.
The food was delicious also - breakfast and dinner!
I loved the fact of how spacious our room was, the kids had space to be kids and werent cramped.
It was a very pleasant stay.

Featuring half-timbered buildings, almost complete city walls and a wealth of Roman heritage, beautiful Chester sits by the border with Wales.
The southernmost gate of the walls overlooks the River Dee, and the road leading north is one of 4 in the city to follow the original Roman roads. To the east, the Roman Gardens include a reconstructed underfloor heating system.
Nearby Grosvenor Park has remains of a stone Roman amphitheatre, thought to have been built on the world’s largest wooden amphitheatre at the time. Over the river in the suburb of Handbridge is a 2nd-century shrine to Minerva, and an informative display in the Grosvenor Museum provides the background to all this heritage.
In the west is Chester Racecourse and nearby are the medieval castle remains. More medieval buildings line the cobbled city centre streets. Some of these are The Rows, black-and-white timbered buildings housing 2 levels of shops. Other shopping options are the indoor market by the cathedral, and the Cheshire Oaks Outlet Village in Ellesmere Port to the north. The road out there passes Chester Zoo, one of the UK’s best zoos.
Booking.com’s range of Chester accommodation includes hotels with swimming pools, guest houses by the train station and B&Bs with parking near Chester Airport.

Chester is a beautiful and ancient city where Roman Legionaires, Viking raiders, and Norman invaders once walked. We especially enjoyed the Roman Amphitheatre ruins and the 1000 year old Cathedral. It is worth the trip.

Very friendly and safe place. Lots to do and see.
Very friendly and safe place. Lots to do and see. I recommend the Saddle Inn for excellent food (Haggis Bon Bons are a must). The Saddle is an amazing venue, well with checking out the many bands who play here. Staffcate very accounting and attentive. Will definitely be at this venue again.
The name alone should be enough to create the impression of a hotel with attitude. Thankfully, this doesn't extend to the reception/hospitality staff who were unfailingly polite and helpful.
The hotel is located on the canal and is roughly five minutes walk to Chester railway station and the city centre. The terrace at the back of the hotel overlooks the canal and is great for people watching and toasting the end of the day with a sundowner or two.
Arrived 2hrs before room available and used leisure facilities which were very good- jacuzzi very warm, pool nice temperature and sauna also good - . Lockers good size so overall very relaxing. Room was spacious, clean and warm, bathroom clean - Free carpark is always nice as always charged by City centre hotels. Overall a lovely stay and price-wise very good. taxi was ordered into Chester by reception for 3.30pm and prompt arrival.
The room was very clean and modern with adequate facilities. The bed and sheets were very comfortable and the curtains well lined to block out the early sunshine. If I had been sharing the room, I think it would have been a bit cramped.
The hotel is very convenient for Chester city centre and it is useful to have 24 hour secure parking. The lovely Architect pub and restaurant is right next door which is great
The hotel is situated 15 mins from Chester city centre by foot, pleasant walk, straight forward no hidden turns. The room was slightly smaller than expected but as we were only using it as a sleeping base it fulfilled our needs.
The staff were very efficient and friendly, the breakfast was very nice, hot and well cooked, with a varied choice.
The bar was a welcome relief after a days walking around the town.
Chester Guest House was very clean, comfortable & near lots of facilities. The breakfast was exceptional. It was self service with everything you could think of from cereal, yogurts, full English to fruit & danishes. The staff were very pleasant & helpful. Ray was a wonderful host, thank you.
We love this hotel we try and come when possible every thing is spot on all staff go out of your way to be so helpful it was our 1st wedding anniversary so helpful from reception to bar staff breakfast always good rooms very clean nothing to fault so thanks we be back
Lovely spacious bedroom with sofa, desk and TV stand. Bathroom was equally a decent size. Staff friendly throughout the stay and hotel in a good location for the city centre and also to visit Chester Zoo. Breakfast was buffet option with a reasonable selection
Lovely hotel and location was great. Ideal for walking into the centre of Chester. Close to shos, bars and restaurants. Bar area and restaurant was lovely. Rooms are great and the walk in shower is perfect. Snacks in the room are a nice touch.
