The property is excellent and the location is as just stunning. Another gem fact is their staff, special mention to Rob and the chef for his amazing hospitality and kind nature towards every guest. All customisations were attended and fulfilled. Everything was amazing! Would definitely love to stay again.

Special touches which made it stand out, cosy & comfortable house with welcoming hosts Anne and Michael. Pot of tea and coffee on arrival and Anne’s homemade Parkin cake. We also had a dainty bottle of sherry in our room which we didn’t have but was a welcoming touch. The bedroom was beautifully furnished and clean and the hosts relaxed and care about making customers feel at home. The breakfast menu choices are numerous and all top quality ingredients. The cost was superb for this value of accommodation.

Lovely, clean and well equipped flat bang in the middle of Coniston.
We stayed with our 9 month baby and the included travel cot and high chair were excellent quality.
The small hall before the kitchen/living room was useful for keeping wet hiking gear.

Coniston is a pretty village and a great attraction is the Bluebird boat in the Ruskin Museum. However, if you want to stay near a lake, Coniston isn't the right village. Only pub food in Coniston and they haven't heard of/no demand for salads.

Coniston is the perfect village to stay at for exploring...
Coniston is the perfect village to stay at for exploring this area of the lake district. There are some fantastic views and walks in all directions for varying levels of experience and fitness. The cottage is homely, fairly clean, it has most things you need, a lovely view of Coniston and the lake. The location was perfect for us, plenty of walks from the cottage and lovely views on the walk back along the elevated lane. Beautiful area of the lakes. We haven’t spent much time around Coniston before having normally visited Keswick. Coniston is a picturesque village, the lake makes for some amazing photos and the village’s is full of, and surrounded by, places to eat.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

I have visit Coniston many times before, this time was to go fell walking with my Son. Booked Bluebird Lodge at quite short notice but found it very easy. I knew it was just outside of the town which allowed us to pick up walks without moving the car. We also took a trip on the Steam Gondola & went around the Ruskin Museum, both of which were excellent have been meaning to do for years. Bluebird Lodge is near the lake where there are a vast array of activities for all ages. Great food both at the Lodge & nearby pubs & cafes. Couldn't have asked for more. The room itself was spacious with comfy bed and good tea/ coffee making facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful, couldn’t fault the service. The bar downstairs had a great choice of different beers and lagers and other beverages as well as a decent menu for food (we didn’t try the food as had other reservations). Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Although the evening meals were bar meals there was an area of tables reserved for residents, as the bar was very busy. Menu choice was standard fare. Breakfasts were brilliant. All other reviews you will read will mention the showerhead being great and it is true.
