Breakfast was excellent, more than we expected.
Dawn was a great host and could not do enough to make out weekend a great experience.
Rooms were excellent and the beds were very comfortable.
Would definitely book this guest house again.

Last time we came up to Scotland we stayed in Carlisle where the property was fine but the location not so much. We had stopped for a while in Gretna after we left and found it so much nicer which is why we chose Bojangles this time. It is quiet, green and so much more relaxing.
We only stayed one night as a journey breaker on our way North but would love to stay linger another time.

Gretna Green is well worth a visit.
Gretna Green is well worth a visit. The area is lovely with nice courtyards which are well kept and shops selling local produce and Scottish gifts. There were quite a few weddings taking place while we visited the historic blacksmiths area. We also visited the outlet centre which had a lot of good shops and bargains to be had.

I loved everything about this hotel, perfect location, nice quirky rooms. The setting and additional touches in the grounds were just beautiful. I could have stayed here longer.
The restaurant was lovely and ALL staff from check in to bar/food to housekeeping were very friendly.

I could definitely recommend both The Gables Hotel & The Gretna Hall Hotel, although I only actually stayed in The Gables Hotel, but had food in both. The wedding reception was held in the Gretna Hall Hotel & the main meal was amazing.
Some wedding guests stayed further afield and didn’t sleep properly being near a noisy motorway.
The Blacksmiths was well worth seeing & it has an interesting history. Plenty of parking at the rear of the buildings.

Rooms clean , a little small .
Rooms clean , a little small . Windows don’t keep motorway noise out .Complained about noise in room at check out , they seemed not too care . Work being carried out on floor above early in the morning , drilling and banging . These rooms should not be used , wasnt warned about this . Very poor , Didn’t sleep at all well . Staff very friendly and attentive except on check out . Personally wouldn’t stay again
The hotel was well situated for someone travelling to Scotland. It was easy to park and the we checked in quickly. We had read very negative reviews but believe these people wrongly confused a well used facility for a dirty one. In fact the carpets in the corridors and basic room furnishing are not brand new and well used but the bedrooms are clean and comfortable, bathroom cleaned well too.
After our late night 4 hour journey we found the Days Inn at Gretna a welcoming, basic but comfortable stop over and we would use again.
Had to make a stop off in Gretna Green at short notice on our way back from Scotland a day earlier than planned. Booked here giving an hour’s notice. Arrived to a friendly welcome. The owners (sorry I have forgotten their names but they were a lovely couple) gave us a bigger room than we had booked to ensure we had a good night’s sleep. They directed us to local places still open so we could get supper. The cooked breakfast in the morning was lovely. All in all had a wonderful experience.
The room was well equipped with iron, ironing board, luggage rack, hairdryer etc. The breakfast was excellent - the only thing missing from breakfast was fried bread. Room service meal was also excellent. The staff were all very friendly and happy to help with anything we requested. There appeared to be lots of weddings going on while we were there, but we weren't disturbed at all during the night (apart from the usual hotel noise)
10/10, Carolyn is the best host i've ever met. We had plenty of requests/questions and She just fullfilled all our wishes. Highly recommended, very friendly cottage, and Gretna Green is a unique place to get merried. The room is perfectly clean, you have all what you need. Breakfast you can order in advance according to your taste.
The property was in a quiet area off the motorway. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good.
It’s a destination for weddings and it was enjoyable to see a few, complete with bagpiper, while we were there.
Overall, the property appears to be dated.
It is good value for money. The cooked breakfast is really good and you can choose what you want as part of your meal. It is located very close to the two larger hotels in the area which facilitate weddings at a much cheaper cost.
Booked at fairly short notice. Needed a dog friendly hotel which was exactly what this was. Dog was allowed into bar and room and was even treated to a sausage for his breakfast. Staff were welcoming to the dog and us!
Breakfast was excellent. The hosts, Ian and Anna were the best we have met at any hotel or B&B. They could not have improved their service, if they tried. The room was clean, light and comfortable.
Breakfast was at main welcome break site 500yards away was good and reasonably priced for a service area hotel clean and tidy dog friendly but out dated fine for one night
