The room was lovely, with a nice view from the bedroom.
The shower was also incredible, we wanted to take it with us 😂
Thank you for having us, the pub is also lovely, very nice food and very pretty/relaxing ambience inside. We expected to go to Penrith for the evening but couldn't get a taxi, they squeezed us in to eat too. Thanks again for that too 😁
Very good value for money.

Beautiful town with a lot of history embedded. Places one needs to visit include Penrith Castle, Brougham Castle, Long Meg and Daughters. The cafes and restaurants at Penrith are cute and exude that family vibe. Highly recommend to do a stop-over at Penrith.

we visited Penrith as a bit of nostalgia as we used to go frequently in the past. The town was very quiet although we found a very good restaurant, GRANTS, for a delicious evening meal. It used to be a bustling market town which seems to have lost its heart . Maybe internet shopping has affected the economy of the town as is the case in many towns. It is perhaps a useful place to stay to explore the surrounding area which remains beautiful.

We used The Station Hotel as a stop off for a day trip to Scotland and could have stayed longer in Penrith as we barely took a look around. We had some dramas and it is credit to staff and management that they were able to sort booking confusions quickly and professionally. Thanks folks.

Penrith as a great place to base yourself for a stay in the Lake District. It's quieter than the more popular and populous towns of Keswick and Windermere - except in March when it hosts the World Marmalade Festival and, according to Karen and Ali from Blue Swallow Guesthouse, the town is decorated with Paddington Bears and Honey Pots. They even boast having one of the champion marmalade makers stay with them on an annual basis.

Free parking and a bar on site were positives as was the central location.
The advert said that it was a larger than average room but including the bathroom it was no more than 13ft by 8 ft. There was no table or chairs so not a pleasant area to spend any time. The bottom of the outside of the shower had ingrained dirt.

Penrith town very nice and quaint!
Penrith town very nice and quaint! The locals were lovely - in the bars, hotel and on the streets.
We visited Coniston lake and enjoyed it. Very pretty. nice cafe and food. boat trip very good.
Went to see Arthur's Round Table! Delightful. Nice hotel for coffee opposite.
Very pleasant and clean single room with lovely old furniture and a very comfortable bed at the back of the hotel overlooking the park. Nice and quiet. Tea and coffee making stuff in the room. Glad I asked for a quiet room, as I suspect the rooms at the front may suffer a little traffic noise from the busy street outside. The hotel is perfectly located for arriving by train, 2 mins walk from the station and close to the rest of the facilities in the town centre.
When we arrived in Penrith, we had booked a hotel for the wrong date. Tracy was extremely accommodating letting us stay for the night in one of the best rooms she had available. The bathroom was absolutely beautiful and the bed was really comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional. Tracy again going above and beyond to make us comfortable welcome and meeting our requests. A fantastic day we would definitely come in again
Welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. Comfortable spacious room with seats as well as beds (unlike YHA). Decent sprung mattresses without rubbery covers (again unlike YHA). Clean well-designed kitchen. Not far from town centre yet in a quiet area. Dry room and bike storage (even though I didn't need these on this occasion). Nice fluffy towels available to hire very cheaply if you don't have your own.
Karen and Alison along with wee Bunty the dog have a fantastic guest house.Clean and tidy, smashing breakfast made to order.En suite bedroom with comfy bed, shower and a TV that works not like other places I've stayed in.Wee treats next to coffee, tea, hot chocolate tray which was nice.Ladies are really friendly and in all would like to stay there again anytime I'm up in Cumbria area.Thank you both.
Our host Alison was really friendly and helpful, and made lots of recommendations for places to eat and drink, and places to walk to. Everything was spotless, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was really delicious. No. 3 is really close to the town centre so is perfectly located to explore Penrith and surrounding areas. Highly recommended!
Characterful accommodation in a traditional village pub. Plenty to like about this recently renovated small hotel run as a community enterprise. Enjoyed the meals set in the intimate bar/dining room shared with the rural residents as their "local".
A good alternative to the traditional towns for a visit to the Lakes.
Wonderful place, spacious and super clean. The apartment was well supplied from tea and coffee to ironing board.
Communication was excellent, with regular updates and instructions regarding car park and local area.
I would definitely go back to stay there again.
It was an unprecedented stay. Warm, cosy, cordial ambience. Breakfast was as expected and it was huge. A table top fan was provided that helped a lot in beating the summer. Room was nice & compact.
If I visit Penrith again, definitely will stay here again.
Lovely boutique hotel with very friendly staff, comfortable rooms & delicious good value meals in restaurant. Popular with the locals is testament to their custom. Easy access to Ullswater & surrounding lakes district. Close to cosy town of Penrith.
A beautiful country hotel in a lovely little village of Stainton. The food was excellent and the staff very welcoming and friendly. Our room was small but we had all we needed, it was clean and comfortable with all amenities provided.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a very nice location with beer garden views on Penrith Castle and 1 min walk from train station from which buses to the lakes depart.
The hotel and room was tastefully decorated, bed comfortable and close to downtown eating. Great amenities. Loved having an early cup of coffee and taking a few snacks for on the road. Breakfast very well done.
Great hotel, rooms, bar & restaurant are great.
Pool & spa added bonus.
Location is good, 10 minute walk into Penrith and 10 minute drive to Pooley bridge.
