Staff friendly and helpful, all rooms outstanding and choice of meals first class. Well done.
Situated just outside historical Redruth, Tricky’s Hotel features 5 acres of grounds, and a traditional restaurant. The rugged coast at Portreath is a 5-minute drive away.

Good value for money. Honest, comfortable, no frills and, as the saying goes, it does what it says on the tin. Good variety of breakfast choice, great Sunday carvery. Very well located for exploring Cornwall.

The attention to detail in a small space was unbelievable, I would happily live in this chalet, it has all you need Our host was so unbelievably helpful and friendly.
Along the north Cornwall coast, around 30 minutes’drive from Newquay and St Ives, Portreath Arms has a cosy bar and restaurant serving fresh home-cooked food.
Attached pub did not have food available after 2.30pm.

The room was lacking of air conditioning and I had to open a big and wide window for air during the night. I was frightened in case of crawling insects or a fox can easily climb in as the room I stayed downstairs on the side of back garden with load of weeds and a trees that looks like a forest.

Unfortunately i cant rate the town of Redruth very high.this is due to how steep the main shopping street is. If you have mobility issues dont shop in Redruth. But once you manage to get to the top of the street there are buses that can take you on lovely journeys to places like Truro, Penzance and surrounding areas all for a fiver day ticket. Plus there is a train station if you fancy a train ride. If you have a car and want to save on fuel then use one of the many long term carparks for around Four pound for the day and use the buses

Stayed in St Day, which was the perfect location to explore wider Cornwall. I travelled out every day in all directions and the Road network was easy to navigate to get me around. There were plenty of options for having a great evening meal within a 5 mile radius of St Day. I enjoyed my stay here so much that I am planning on a return visit. Had a great nights sleep every night because it was lovely and quiet.

this hotel was outside the town of Redruth, in the country so not affected by Redruth itself and lots of nice places to visit nearby , Redruth itself is a sad and neglected little town, very few thriving businesses, lots of empty shops and too many charity shops. There seemed to be nowhere where food is served all day (we needed to eat late afternoon as we had to be at a venue by 6.30pm),one street (West End!) looked as if it was ripe for demolition. Lots of potential with its tin mining history, two very good pieces of artwork and also some interesting and historic buildings that could be renovated in to something rather special but left in a dreadful state of repair. A bit of levelling up and real investment could make it a very pleasant little town

Perfect little Shepherds hut in a central location, ideal for exploring Cornwall!
Spotlessly clean, lovely little touches on arrival, wine, milk, even homemade flapjack.
Highly recommend a stay here, can’t fault it!
The hotel was lovely, fab shower/bathroom, room was good size with lots of little extras, nice selection of teas and coffee. The beds were so comfy we both had a great night's sleep. Staff were friendly, polite and extremely helpful. Leisure facilities were a fab addition to our stay. We had afternoon tea which was delicious and breakfast was also lovely.
So a fab stay altogether, sadly only for one night but we will back again soon hopefully.
Calm and quiet location
Impeccably clean, bright, and quiet accommodation. The whole place has a welcoming, light, airy feel that was both calming and energising. This is not a luxury staffed hotel, but it is very comfortable and I had everything I needed. The entry system was efficient and easy. The room and separate shower room were spotless. The kitchen area was spotless and stylish. There was on street parking.
really beautiful, clean and quiet area within redruth. large room with stunning interia. we stayed in the Owl Room and then way the couple had desighned the room with the theme of Owls was a really nice feature. other people staying at the facility were quiet and respectful and it was honestly somewhere i would stay again if i travel down here again
We had a very difficult journey to Cornwall and ended up at our hotel 6 hours later than we expected.
Leila text such good care of Us make sure we had food in our room and that we were comfortable.
Breakfast the next morning was astonishing as was all the food at the restaurant which is truly top-notch.
We've booked a return trip already.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Dinner was OK (but could do with less salt). Room was comfortable, but little tired; very soft bed and some mould in bathroom. Shower produced just a trickle. Location of hotel was very good for our plan to cycle West Kernow Way with start and finish in Redruth.
Beautiful house and garden, hearty breakfast.
Great location, within short driving distance from every point of interest in western Cornwall.
The town itself, St.Day, is quite pretty. It was nice to have dinner and a short walk in the evening.
I already filled out one these questionnaires…. No elevators stairs were steep… bathroom light switch was dirty white cord with cheap plastic end to it …. I would say it was covered in bacteria… very disappointing..
We took our 2 dogs along with us, and the hotel couldn't do enough for us all. The dogs had beds and goodie bags set up in the room for them along with a little letter, and the bed for me and the wife was massive 😊
Beautiful quiet location, central Cornwall with an easy drive to either coast through stunning countryside. The sunrise and sunset when viewed from the top field are awesome. Will be returning again.
Hotel was very clean and presentable. We stayed there as a base to go to St. Ives and Penzance but if you're there for Redruth it's a great location as it's right next to the town and train station.
We were made welcome from the start, the hotel was spotlessly clean and breakfast was superb, I would stay again and recommend it, central location to explore the county
