Excellent breakfast, hot items were hot and tasty. Plenty of choice and good quality. Room was clean, comfortable, with plugs near mirror for hair drying. Kettle, bottle of water, tea, coffee, milk and biscuits very much appreciated. All staff we dealt with were genuinely friendly and perfect service. They seemed to be genuinely wanting us to enjoy the hotel. Plenty of space and good seating near bar and adjoining lounge to enjoy the sea view and go out into the garden.
Dating from 1898, this wonderful hotel commands a majestic location, nestled in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, providing a spectacular view across Swanage Bay and Pevril Point

Very comfortable property in excellent location, close to everything we needed, such as shops, buses, the Swanage Railway and seafront.
Because there is limited parking outside the house, our hosts helpfully provided a free pass for the main beach car park.

Fish and chips on the front were superb, and there are lots of nice cafes. The pier is invigorating with fantastic views, the steam train station within a short walk, and a lovely long promenade to walk. There are a good number of welcoming pubs, and a variety of restaurants including pizza, mediteranean cuisine, indian takeaway, burgers, and wonderful bakeries offering Dorset apple cake, pasties and pastries.
Lots of interesting shops with Jurassic keepsakes, RNLI gifts, and antiques. There are supermarkets, a chemist, and cashpoints. Once down in the town and at the seafront, it is pretty flat, so easy to get a round, but the hills can make it a difficult climb back after a day on the beach!

Great traditional sea side town full of everything a family would need for a good holiday.
So many kinds of take away food, restaurants and chippies. Brilliant choice of shops for all tastes.
Steam train trips. Boat trips and crabbing in the small harbour.
Very long sandy beech and beautiful walks to be had along the bay and cliffs.
Bird watchers will enjoy the bird colonies along the cliffs.

Out of season Swanage is still charming.
Out of season Swanage is still charming. Small enough to walk round, but large enough to have a variety of shops and eateries. The Salt Pig was good for eating in. You can walk the coast path amongst other walks.

we only had two full days in Swanage in the middle of November, so our experience was not typical, We did look to drive into the town and park on the road by the side of the seafront, however the parking charge of £4.30 for the first hour put us off, who wants to benefit from 3 hours at £7.00 in November. As we didn't use the town car parks we cannot comment on the charges in them.
My husband has bad knees so we didn't park and walk around the town but there did seem to be some interesting little, individual shops as we drove through, We found Corfe Castle a delight to visit, especially the NT tea shop! We hope to go back.

I've stayed in Swanage several times and this reflects my like of Swanage and the surrounding area.
The Town / beach / numerous eating options / the compact layout of the Town makes it easy to navigate. Also great walks in and around Swanage for short strolls or longer treks.
Can't say I would have anywhere that I would avoid on subsequent visits.
I have to start by saying that John and Martine are so welcoming and friendly, you feel at home immediately. Easy to check in to your room. Location is great. An easy short walk to the seafront and town centre.
There is a pub three doors away that does decent food. The number 50 bus stop is outside the pub. This direction takes you to the swanage ferry and onwards to bournemouth.
Breakfast is cooked fresh when you arrive to the room, there is a big range of food to choose from and if you leave there still hungry its your own fault.
Everything. All furnishings & food was all high class products. Kate has thought of everything you Need for a pleasant stay. Everything was spotless. The breakfast choice & food was delicious.
If your looking for a place to stay in swanage then this is the place. 10 minute walk to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay & Can not wait to return. We have also recommended family & friends too.
Staff are so welcoming & the young male staff at breakfast was very polite.
Customer service is 10/10
This apartment is in a superb location, on the ground floor, and just a few minutes walk to the beach, parks, amusements, town centre and of course, the great Swanage Railway station. It includes 2 free parking spaces - which are essential for this town in summer. The kitchen area is brand new and everything works smoothly. Jo was very helpful and quick to respond to guide us on a few initial queries to get us settled in. Would certainly consider returning.
Amazing location, perched high above the beach with a panoramic views over stunning Swanage Bay. The staff were very friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. My mother had a wonderful massage at the spa. A 10-15 minute stroll into town . I will definitely return to this hotel as it is good value. Loads to see and do nearby Durlestone, Corfe Castle ( wear good walking shoes) and even an evening at the tiny Rex Cinema in Wareham
Beautiful, spacious and modern apartment, but still with lots of character. Wonderfully decorated in a fantastic location literally just across the road from the beach and the pier. Super comfy beds, really, quiet and peaceful too. Liz the owner is a wonderful person, very kind, helpful, thoughtful and accommodating. We were super impressed! We would definitely book and stay again!
The cottage was beautiful and well equipped. communication from the host was excellent. we stayed with our two teenage sons and there was ample space for us all. having towels, and cleaning supplies included was a bonus too! short walk to swanage high street and the beach. perfect relaxing stay
It is a very spacious apartment and has all the facilities you could need. A very thoughtful addition is the owner left wine, cider and chocolate biscuits as well as cereals and tea bags. The beach is within walking distance and Swanage is a lovely family seaside.
The house was a home away from home, our host was very friendly and attentive. Everything you could need for a comfortable and memorable stay was provided we will definitely be returning in the New year and recommending this home to our family and friends.
The room was first class, Very large & spacious. Our hosts were very welcoming. Breakfast was served in our room daily by filling in the menu. The b&b is very close to all amenities in Swanage town & the beach. Would highly recommend staying.
Great location with only a short walk to the town centre, beach & local convenience store.
Lovely touches with milk, tea, biscuits & doggy treats for our pups first holiday away from home!
Honestly cannot fault & will recommend to others.
Lovely spacious property, very close to town centre, beach etc. Plenty of kitchen equipment, tea towels, loo rolls and bath towels. Comfortable beds. Owners very quick to respond to queries and left a home made cake for us on arrival!
Breakfast is over expectations there are more starter and more kind of coffee ready to serve. The view is good and we enjoyed it very much. Parking has enough space even the hotel is packed. Great job The Pines Hotel.
Excellent location. Good to have space to park 2 cars.
Access at front and rear. Easy to collect keys. Enough seating for us all at the table and in the lounge.
Well resourced apartment.
Exceptional view from the hotel, particularly from the terrace. Access straight down to the beach from there. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Very well equipped kitchen, good space and lovely additions such as wine, biscuits, milk and crisps on arrival. The flat was close to the beach and near the centre of Swanage.
Lovely hotel, full of history and a very good location for Swanage. Good size room with sea views. Quiet, unlike other hotels we have stayed in. Staff were all friendly.
