Everything was good from the staff to the room. The staff were welcoming and helpful especially Samith. The room was unexpectedly awesome! I love the high ceiling and size of the room. It was perfect! I wish I had more time in Negombo.

This guesthouse is run by a lovely family and sparkling clean. The aircon worked well, so did the hot water. Breakfast was massive and super yummy. It's only 700m to Negombo bus terminal where I took a bus to Sigiriya. I got lots of tips for travelling around Sri Lanka and the owner stayed up past midnight on a public holiday to welcome me when my plane arrived late and even offered I could leave my winter hiking gear with them whilst travelling. Honestly, I cannot recommend this place enough.

Derrick and his wife made my stay unforgettable with their warm hospitality. The hotel is ideally located—close to the city yet peaceful. My spacious room had a beautiful balcony view and was spotlessly clean. The homemade breakfasts were delicious, and I loved having access to a well-equipped kitchen. Their personal touch and helpful advice made me feel right at home. Highly recommend! Will definitely return.

Very lovely, welcoming and helpful people, oriented towards healthy living through food and mindfulness. The villa is nicely decorated and some have a bathroom with an open air shower. The feeling can not be described in words! Very tasty food partially from their own garden, which can also be visited. The pool was a big plus after a very long trip. Absolutely amazing stay, probably our best in Sri Lanka. The location is good, 10min walk to the beach and 3 mins walk to the street with many restaurants. The garden and pool are amazing. Airconditioning worked very well, as well as the hot shower. Very comfi beds. The guy that welcomed us was super friendly and happy to answer our questions. I strongly recommend staying here, ideal when you've just flown into Sri Lanka or are about to leave!

I arrived at Astig Villa after what turned into a long journey from Arugam Bay – a ride that should have taken 4.5 hours stretched to 9.5, and by the time I arrived it was already night. The staff welcomed me so warmly and even prepared dinner for me, which was such a relief after a difficult day of travel. I had been travelling around Sri Lanka for two weeks, and staying here was exactly what I needed – a chance to relax by the beautiful pool and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The staff looked after me so well, cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the owner was always available if I needed anything. He even organised a tuk tuk to take me into town, which was especially helpful in an area I wasn’t yet familiar with. What makes Astig Villa so special is the personal touch – it feels more like staying with friends than at a hotel. I’d especially recommend it to anyone flying into Sri Lanka late at night, as it’s very close to the airport, and the nearby lagoon is a beautiful spot to watch the fishermen go by. Whether you’re starting or ending your Sri Lankan journey, this is the perfect place to stay.
