Quiet, tranquil location. 2km+ from town. Gem and her husband run a fantastic homestay. They are the kindest most genuine people we’ve met in our 2.5 months travelling south east Asia. They offered complimentary bikes for our use during staff. Collected us from our bus. Offered to drive us in and out of town as it was raining. Great local knowledge: offered to book transfers onwards. Brought us to Paradise caves as it was raining and we didn’t want to take scooters. Breakfast was provided and freshly made each morning. We ordered food to the homestay from their restaurant in town, Lantern. We ate at their restaurant in town on two nights also. Best around! Great variety of western and Vietnamese options on menu and happy hour 2-for-1 drinks Absolutely delicious and so fresh. Very reasonably priced food and stay for the highest quality.

Very familiar homestay, they were super attentive. We arrived late at night and they came to pick us up, also they took us again to the bus when we left (for free). They allowed us to take a shower after we check out. They manage the rental of a motorbike for us, and help us with the bus booking. The breakfast was was good. The son speaks very good english so that make things easier. Super recomended!

Location: Unbeatable with the riverfront. Room: Just like the pictures - super roomy and quite clean. The bed isn’t the comfiest but we weren’t expecting luxury either. Bathroom is spacious though there’s no shower curtain around the tub so be prepared to make your toilet wet. Our room is on the top floor with a huge balcony and that was amazing. Hosts: This is a family business with everyone in the family contributes. I cannot praise them enough - just hard working and nice and honest people all around. Everything was super cheap and they just wanted to make sure your needs are met. Extras: They helped me do laundry twice after our muddy and wet hikes and the price was so good to pass up. We also ended up renting their mopeds all 3 nights and the hosts only charged us once since we rode only to the restaurants and back. Overall, would 100% stay there again.

The hosts are very friendly. They arranged a reservation to see the caves and a ticket for onward travel. The room was big enough and clean. The food is excellent.

We stayed at the Bolero Bungalow for 3 nights. Dieu and his family are lovely people. It was the best experience in Vietnam so far. The hosts are really kind and want to help you with any questions you might have. They went above and beyond to help us and to make us feel at home. Also, they are a great laugh! The bungalow was perfect. Exactly what you need with a nice view and the comforting sound of crickets and frogs in the distance. It is just like the pictures! We rented a motorbike and could see the lovely surroundings of Phong Nha. We definitely recommend you book your stay at this gorgeous accomodation. Thanks again Dieu!

Phong Nha is an amazing place which definitely deserves a few days of your time. We stayed in this incredible homestay and you get the feeling that everything and everyone is genuine. No fancy stuff. Just the unbelievable beauty of natural landscapes and well designed spaces in the homestay. The food was very nice and served on a deck with a great view over the country & fields. The room & bathroom were super clean. The room itself is wow (quality materials) ... While the homestay is located in the rural part of Phong Nha (which is good if you want to avoid the agitation of tourist groups), it's perfectly located: you have a delicious restaurant just along the road a few meters away (Phong Nha Vegan) and you can enjoy a fresh drink along the crystal water of the river. The water is clear and clean, you can happily have a swim in the late afternoon just like locals do while looking at the green mounts and it feels like heaven! Last but not the least, Zhong is a real hard worker with a kind heart, he made everything easy for us and we'll never thank him enough for picking us at night and being helpful and truly friendly.
