Located on the Ile d’Oleron, the Hotel Île De Lumière offers direct access to the beach. It has an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court and many other facilities. The location is picture perfect, literally. It is on the western coast of the island, so if there is a sunset, you would see it. On our days, it was rainy, but that simply brought a different kind of beauty. The beaches were mostly empty - we had them to ourselves. There are several ways to get to the beach below, and all are an easy, short walk. Yet, the hotel is elevated, so you have a lovely view of the coastline. The room was light and airy, and very clean. There is plenty of storage space, and a nice shower with plenty of pressure. The bed was very comfortable, and there were room darkening curtains. The hotel was full when we were there, but it was still quiet. Breakfast is not included, but we found it to be worth the price. There was a lot of variety in the pastries offered, along with cheese, meat, boiled eggs, cereal, and fruit. We would recommend this place, and would stay again.

Nestled in the heart of La Rochelle and set in an 18th-century building, Maison des Ambassadeurs is just a 5-minute walk from the Old Harbour and offers a 24-hour front desk as well as a concierge... What a wonderful hotel. Staff were amazing. Room was spacious & clean. Loved everything about it. Also short walk to harbour which is full of bars/restaurants

Situated in the lively Saint Nicolas district in La Rochelle, this hotel is surrounded by antique dealers, bars and cafés. It offers free Wi-Fi and a conservatory with large sofas and tropical plants.... Fabulous place & had a great stay. Have stayed twice now & definitely recommend But…

Set in Saint-Georges-dʼOléron, 6.7 km from Fort Boyard, Hôtel Bar Restaurant La Marie Galante offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Lovely clean room and friendly staff. They were very welcoming and kind. Good breakfast. Perfect place for a lone traveller to explore the area.

Offering a garden and city view, Le Lodge Park à La Rochelle is located in La Rochelle, 2.7 km from Concurrence Beach and 1.8 km from La Rochelle Train Station. Lovely apartment at the back of the building so you don’t hear the road at the front. Everything you need for a great stay, plus a balcony so you can sit out. Easy flat walk into the city centre in about 20 minutes. Free on street parking at the front of the building which was a bonus. Alain is a super host and his English is brilliant, we’ll definitely stay there again when we go to La Rochelle.

Offering a garden and garden view, Naphéo is set in Tonnay-Charente, 41 km from Saintes Train Station and 42 km from La Rochelle Train Station. Perfect room, clean and cute. Very good communication with the owner. She helps us to check-in on time to go change for a wedding we were attending. It is also very calm.

Set in Saint-Coutant-le-Grand, 41 km from Saintes Train Station, Le Logis du Péré offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and a garden. Lovely old establishment, set quietly in the middle of nowhere. Superb spacious room, with a bathroom AND a shower room, opening direct on to the courtyard. Good restaurant, both for breakfast and dinner. Thoroughly enjoyable one-night stop which we would highly recommend.

Domaine de Rennebourg is set in Saint Denis Du Pin and has a pool with a view and garden views. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. This a pre-revolution property, each room is a marvel of antiquity, with an exceptionally friendly hostess and her mother. We stayed as a stopover between St Malo and Spain, and what an unexpected treat. It's B&B only. The local town has the grandest trio of buildings (Hotel de Ville, Palais de Justice and Salle de Ville) that you're likely to find. It was cold weather but the property was kept warm. In warmer weather the gardens would be a delight. And there's a pool.
