Newport
Set just 31 km from University of South Wales - Cardiff Campus, The Old Mountain Stables Caerllwyn Ganol Farm provides accommodation in Newport with access to a garden, a terrace, as well as full-day... Beautiful spot, lovely facilities, clean and comfortable.
Caerphilly
Ty Castell Guest House is situated in Caerphilly, 12 km from Cardiff Castle, 12 km from Principality Stadium, as well as 13 km from St David's Hall. I can name several arguments in favour of Ty Castell Guest House : Parking on site. A clean room. Quiet at night. Town center with pubs, restaurants and castle accessible by foot. Full english breakfast. However, what makes the establishment stand out among peers is the sincere hospitality of its owner. I was warmly welcomed by Steve upon arrival. He provided me with good suggestions for dinner. He also took time for conversation, something any lone traveler can appreciate. Steve is the heart and soul of Ty Castell Guest House and he will go out of his way to make your stay pleasant and memorable.
Pontypool
Offering a restaurant and bar, The Little Crown Inn is located in Pontypool. It offers traditionally furnished rooms with a flat-screen TV and free WiFi access. Staff were very friendly and helpful from start to finish. The pub/restaurant and rooms all really nice. Will definitely return if in the area again.
Usk
Offering a garden and garden view, Glenview Lodge accommodation, Monmouthshire is located in Usk, 34 km from Bristol Parkway Station and 40 km from Cabot Circus. Other reviews justly praise this property for its luxurious size, well-stocked kitchen, reliable wifi, and comfortable living room with plenty of couch space for a family to relax. Desmond and Marjorie reply promptly to messages and are easy to work with. Also know that the location is ideal for tourists with a rental car who want to visit castles: it is nearly equidistant between Raglan Castle, Monmouth Castle, and Chepstow Castle (as well as Tintern Abbey and its access to the Offa's Dyke hiking trail). Tangentially, the main street of Monmouth is worth visiting for restaurants, buying hiking poles if needed, etc. Don't think that staying at this location means you must do grocery shopping in Chepstow. We've included a photo of our teenage boys sitting on Devil's Pulpit, waiting for their slower parents to complete that portion of the hike.
Pontypool
Boasting garden views, Blackthorn Meadow provides accommodation with terrace, around 32 km from University of South Wales - Cardiff Campus. Built in 1996, the property includes sauna and hot tub. We liked that it is a private setting, and still near to good roads to M4. The place is very clean, we felt comfortable straight away and did not have to clean anything ourselves. The beds are such good quality. After having several terrible experiences in the Newport area, we finally found a clean and comfortable place. The hosts made us feel very welcome too and were very attentive. And the hot tub and sauna were a welcome extra to relax after a day out.
Abertillery
Boasting quiet street views, Tranquil Welsh Mountain Gem, Abertillery, Wales offers accommodation with a patio, around 41 km from University of South Wales - Cardiff Campus. We had to come over from Australia as my brother passed away. On previous visits we had stayed at the Premier Inn at Ebbw Vale. It is quite a nice place to stay but soulless. Under the circumstances, we knew we needed to stay in a place that offered more. Patricia's place delivered this in spades. It is small but equipped with EVERY convenience. Nothing was overlooked. We have stayed in so many up market AirBnBs but none have offered the attention to detail that this little gem did. It made our time at Abertillery bearable.
Abergavenny
This former coaching inn is set on the edge of Brecon Beacons, in the historic market town of Abergavenny. The Angel Hotel offers a restaurant, bar, and free Wi-Fi. Really smart hotel, great facilities, great food , polite helpful staff

Very nice stay at a very fresh and thoughtfully designed hotel. Great views over the river and onto the rugby/football ground from the room. Nice people and a goot breakfast, too.
