Opened in April 2014 after a thorough renovation, this ryokan features spacious guest rooms surrounded by tranquil mountains. Loved this accomodation private onsen and sauna were a treat. Dinner and breakfast were traditional Japanese and delicious. Were able to purchase wine on property which was reasonably priced and locally made. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Great place to stay

This is our favorite hotel in our Kyushu trip. It is a full-serviced hotel. The location is excellent. They had parking spaces available for guests. The staff were very helpful. You must eat dinner and breakfast in their in-house restaurant. The room with tatami mats was amazing. The room had its own small tea table and outdoor area.

Located 7.4 km from Takachiho Shrine, 8.5 km from Takachiho Gorge Freshwater Fish Aquarium and 46 km from Ogidake Park Viewing Platform, Guest House Iwato offers accommodation set in Takachiho. I had a good stay and saw the amazing shrine and cave that I didn't know about. Place is in a beautiful area, in the mountains. Easily connected by public transportation by bus to Takachiho. It was very comfortable stay, a bit loud in the morning when outer guests were getting ready. Everything very clean, private room spacious. Good wifi, microwave, tea, all that I needed was there. Check out was at 10 but they were very kind when I asked to checkout little bit later which I really appreciate. Overall I recommend

Miyakonojo Green Hotel is located in Miyakonojō, 27 km from Kirishima Jingu Shrine and 40 km from Daguri Cape Amusement Park. It was very close to the train station (around a 5 minutes walk). The room itself was very clean and modern. I enjoyed the public bath and laundry services as well. Staff was very friendly and I could communicate in English as well.
