Located in the centre of Shibu hot-spring area and a 5-minute drive from Yudanaka Train Station, Sakaeya offers Japanese-style accommodations. Beautiful small, cozy ryokan. We had a private onsen in our room and it was wonderful! Staff were beyond friendly and the food was amazing.

Directly connected to the slopes of Okushiga Kogen Ski Resort and within a 1-minute walk from the Lift 1, Hotel Grand Phenix Okushiga provides a convenient ski-in/ski-out access. Incredible service and incredible overall experience. It's like staying in a fancy cabin in the snow. The lounge area with the giant fireplace is awesome, very nice food, very spacious rooms and first class facilities such as the onsens and indoor swimming pool. The decor could be interpreted as dated (as other reviews have stated) but we felt this simply adds to the warmth and cosiness of the establishment. The service here is seriously next level and it is fantastic value for money.

Located a 7-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Hotel Housei offers free WiFi access, indoor/outdoor hot spring baths and air-conditioned Japanese-style rooms. The room with a private onsen was great. Although be warned you might have to cool down the onsen for a while before you feel you can step in. Kids absolutely loved it too. Staff was great. My daughter is coeliac and one evening we decided to have dinner there. We told them and they catered for us no problem. From previous experience in other places we were slightly worried but in the end it was fine. They prepared her a kids meal that was gluten-free.

Situated 3.9 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park, Hotel Omodaka offers 3-star accommodation in Yamanouchi and has an open-air bath. I stayed at a japanese style room. The photos do not show how good the room was: it was really nice, with amazing views and a little balcony. I felt like being in a movie. The onsen is also super. They provide bufet style breakfast with lot of japanese food, I even tried natto. The staff is super friendly and helpful: everytime when I seemed to be lost somebody helped me without being asked, and it was never a problem that I don't know the local customs, somebody always told me how and what to do. I really enjoyed my stay there! The hotel has a minibus, and they give you a lift to/from the train station and the monkey park, which was also very lovely!

Very central with super friendly staff & great service. Love the traditional experience walking round in this beautiful town. The rooms were clean and spacious, the proprietors were friendly and accommodating. Amazing location and beautiful township ❤️

Situated in Yamanouchi, 200 metres from Ryuoo Ski Park, T Hotel Ryuoo features accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a restaurant and ski-to-door access. The staff and services are exceptional! Gu san and Sugawara san went the extra mile to help us send our snowboards from hotel to airport and made sure that everything was in perfect order. The team is always responsive online to answer any enquiries so that our stay could be seamless! The room is very spacious and functional with an extended ski locker room attached to the hotel. We love it here :)
