The Ekho lake house is an amazing space with the perfect location for visiting Pollonaruwa. It is immediately close to the ticket office, has a classic architecture perfectly suited to the lake and classical Sri Lankan / British style that has been maintained with love and attention. Our host Pradeep and his family were excellent hosts. Pradeep especially was very kind and attentive to our needs. He gave us very good advice about visiting Polonnaruwa and brought us rental bicycles, which were the perfect way to see the ancient city. It would be difficult to find an accommodation any closer to the city and, if you are traveling on a budget, this spot provides an outstanding value for the price. Pradeep’s wife cooked us some excellent meals and we found the place to be very well kept. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Exception place, I loved everything, nearest town is 12km away so some may find it quiet but for me it was perfect. The staff were great, and the chef was able to cater for 2 dietary requirements. Food portions are huge and room large and comfortable. Swimming pool warm and clean, just wear t-shirt or wet suit top if a lady to be respectful. It was an amazing experience
