Grand Palace Hotel - Small Luxury Hotels of the World is located in the heart of Riga’s Old Town, only 100 metres from Riga Castle. It features rooms with free WiFi, a minibar and flat-screen cable... How five star hotels should be, in my opinion. Everything about this, one night stay, were perfect. The welcome when you walk in, the brevity of the check-in and the, approx, 10 minutes that took me to be in my room after arriving. Room service was also great as was the night manager who checked me out at 5:15AM.

The location couldn’t be better, yet it was very quiet. It was close enough to Old Town attractions that it was easy to return to the apartment during the day if I forgot something. The apartment is well equipped and very clean. The kitchen has the basics needed for cooking like salt, pepper, sugar, oil, etc. Tea and a few coffee pods are provided. Markets and many restaurants are nearby and the bus stop is a minute away. The train and bus stations are nearby. It’s a great place to stay and Mara is very accommodating and replies quickly.
