Originally built in 1882, this charming hotel has been lovingly restored to its former glory and features an elegant restaurant and bar. Each room includes satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. An iconic hotel that lives up to its reputation. Stayed in a garden suite which was spacious, light & airy with good facilities. The restaurant has a pub feel, & was pretty full & lively. The food was outstanding ( the best we have had in 5 weeks in New Zealand & we have eaten at some special places). We made a detour on our trip to stay here & it was well worth it.
