Fairdene Cottage was perfect. So adorable and comfortable. I was able to visit Balmoral and also the Ballater train station with a replica of Queen Victoria's train carriage. I loved everything about the cottage and its location.

Dominique is really kind and will give you the best suggestions for trips, hikes, and food. She is always ready to help guests. This is a hidden gem. This Guest House is alive with history and charm. It's central location in Balloter makes it an easy walk to anywhere in the village, as well as a quick journey to Balmoral and other area attractions. The town is wonderful for shopping, and the hosts are just plain delightful. Stephen makes a great breakfast, and Beth is attentive to anything you could need. Their knowledge of the area and other historical details they share may have you enticed for a bit during breakfast. Can't say enough good about them ! The bed and room sizes are fantastic. The Pub down the street is amazing and welcomes the best behaved doggies in the world. Finest food from India we've experienced was a block-and-a-half away. Wish we could have stayed longer !!

Lovely little place with high-quality furnishings. Just a short walk from the middle of Ballater but feels quiet and peaceful. The lounge/dining room catches the late afternoon sun and has a view up to the oak woods of Craigendarroch hill. It's quite a small place (the reasonable price reflects this - it's in a 'premium' part of the Highlands) but the quality of the armchair, sofa and dining chairs would put many a grand country hotel to shame and made for a relaxing and memorable stay.

Kath is a truly helpful and considerate host and made our short stay very enjoyable. This is a great location in the Cairngorms and very close to Balmoral Castle. Crannach House is being restored throughout to a very high standard reflected in our accommodation. Most comfortable bedroom, large desk/table space and views over garden containing an ingenious bird feeding "station" that also attracts red squirrels. Large modern en-suite with walk-in shower.

It was situated centrally for travel around the local area. Placed inside a small little Scottish village which was scenic and beautiful. The hotel itself was fabulous and I was very welcomed from the minute I stepped to the front door. It made a huge part of my holiday. Would absolutely stay again in the future. Loved my little road trip up North.

Amazing location and accomodation. Pots very nice, owners very helpful and view from pods is unforgettable. All necessary facilities provided. Be aware that pods are small size, so room for laguage is limited. Whashroom and the snug clean and tidy. - In overall staying here is an amaizing expierience.

We stayed for 3 nights with a Family of 7 (4 adults /3 children) The property is in a fantastic quiet location with views of Craigendarroch Hill out the window and access to many local trails right on the door step, The owner Neil gave us a very warm welcome and couldn’t have done more to ensure we had a good stay, we had his number and knew he was there had we needed anything but the attention to detail within the prep of the property ensure we wanted for nothing.. genuine 10 out of 10 accommodation and owner..

Loved the location, the accommodation was the perfect mix of comfort and wild beauty, the hot tub was amazing perfect temperature and very soothing with great views. Direct access to a lovely walk to the river . A perfect stay for your dog too. Close to lots of stunning locations to explore.

The owners of the Auld Kirk (Helen & Kev) were very friendly & helpful. Room was clean and very comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast & staff were great. We enjoyed our stay at the Auld Kirk. Certainly one of the be accommodations we had in Scotland.
