We really enjoyed our stay here! It was the ideal place to relax and recharge after the buzz of Arugam Bay, and a great base for a day trip to explore Ella. The place was spotlessly clean and super comfortable – we felt right at home. The hosts were so kind and helpful, offering tuk tuk services and even giving us clear pricing for transport andl tours. They also asked us each evening what we’d like for breakfast – such a lovely touch – and it was always fresh and delicious. The facilities were great, the vibe was peaceful, and we couldn’t fault a thing. Highly recommend if you want something welcoming, clean, and well-run!

We, my girlfriend and I, have experienced our stay as a wonderful journey. When we arrived, we were faced with a closed gate, but within seconds the owner arrived. After checking in, we entered the room – perfect! A nice big bed, a clean and spacious bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and everything you could need! After having a little chat, the hotel owner asked about our plans. We mentioned that we came for the nature and tranquility, and without hesitation, he offered to show us around the area. This was the start of an experience we will never forget. 🙏 First, we went to a small waterfall, very local with no tourists – just some local youngsters hanging out who even offered us a beer. Then he took us to Diyaluma Falls – what a massive waterfall that was! He offered us lunch, which he had made himself! A sandwich we’ll never forget; it was incredibly delicious. Next, we visited Buduruwagala Rock Carvings, where the owner introduced us to Buddhism. The place was surrounded by nature – trees, plants, birds – pure enjoyment. We thought we were heading back to the hotel, but nothing could be further from the truth. We visited real monks, where we received blessings and a white bracelet from an elderly monk. They also offered us boiled corn – so tasty! After the visit, we continued back to the hotel. On the way, we ran into a friend of the owner, who invited us to their home. When we arrived, the whole family was there to meet us. What kind and friendly people! They offered us tea and chocolate biscuits, and my girlfriend even received a gift! It gave us such a happy feeling, something we will cherish forever. ❤️ Then it was time to head back to the hotel – or so we thought. Instead, we went elephant spotting! Yes, you read that right – real wild elephants! It got quite late, but we spotted several wild animals, including both a male and female elephant. This, too, will stay with us forever.

A nice boat trip on the lake early in the morning I want to say something not indicated, about the safari proposed by the owner, it's 15000 rps but for the couple. This is a genuine feedback. One of the best service we have had in 4.5 months of travelling across Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia. The owner was superb in helping us out. He text before hand if we needed picking up from bus stop for free. He has his own tuk tuk and took us to bus stops and showed us on our way to sites we were visiting. Hit water for tea/coffee was always available in beautiful tea pots. He offered to cook us an evening meal in his home and invited the other single guest. Amazing tasty food of dhal, pumpkin, coconut and herb mix, rice. Only 900 rupees each. He then dropped us off to the bus stop 8-10 mins away for free. We obviously offered him money but he was more keen that we wrote of our experiences of the accommodation. Would definitely recommend.

I rented the entire villa, a charming place surrounded by nature, a true oasis of peace where serenity filled the air. It was the perfect break before continuing my journey to Ella. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, and every detail was meticulously taken care of, offering an ideal balance between unspoiled nature and proximity to the town center. The stay was rejuvenating and flawless in every aspect. We stayed for 2 nights and it was a good variety to the touristic places we visited before. The whole family was very welcoming and Thomashas wife cooked an amazing dinner for us. Thomasha did two trips with us (Waterfall and temple) for a fair price and gave us explanations and even hiked with us to the top to some little places where we could swim. We recommend the homestay if you want to have a real local experience in Sri Lanka.

Stayed here to break up our ride from Arugam bay to the south of the island. Very comfortable stay for a reasonable price. Selected the no air con room but was able to upgrade with aircon for 1000LKR. Owner was so lovely and kind, loves to have a chat which we love. Got back to out TukTuk the next morning with the doors open and ready, he even cleaned it for us! So grateful :)

The location is so amazing. The river is simply beautiful and we loved swimming in it with the locals. We got a free room upgrade, which was very kind. The staff was very friendly and they have a cute dog. We enjoyed our stay here mainly because of the amazing location at this beautiful river. The room and bed were clean and comfy. The AC is great as well.

Really enjoyed our stay at thomasha’s homestay, very reasonably priced accommodation which was perfect for our stop over. The owner was really helpful and brought us to Ellawela and diyaluma waterfalls which we highly recommend to anyone staying here in the future.
