We had an amazing two night stay! The beach in front of the property is gorgeous. There are hammocks in the water, swings, kayaks, paddle boards, and chairs in front of the water. The rooms are amazing and so comfortable with Netflix, air con, mini fridge, shower with hot water, etc. One of the best parts is being able to use the scooters to go all over town which is included. The property is out of the town but by having the scooters, it makes it easy to go into town. The property is super clean and the workers are very nice. Breakfast is brought to your room each morning and includes a sandwich, fruit, and pastry. It's basic but good. You get one coffee pod to make in your room per day which is good. If you want you can purchase more. Each day they also restock your mini fridge with two beers, two waters and two sodas. They also clean your room daily and the property is kept very clean. This was definitely a splurge for us but if you use all of the amenities it can be worth it.

The area is really really stunning, the view from the room is amazing. The outside terrace is beautiful and at night the little lights and sunset just look amazing. I truly have nothing bad to say, the breakfast was varied and filling and I will absolutely come here again. There was kayaks free to use whenever and a jet ski for 1200 pesos per 30mins for 2 which was very fun! I absolutely recommend, the staff are lovely and helpful. We will be back!

Jasmin and Sebastian were lovely hosts and made our stay at Casa Cactus in Buenavista unforgettable. Everything is to like about Casa Cactus, from the carefully decorated room, to the food that is creative, delicious and fresh, to the garden with beautiful plants, a pool to refresh and attentive staff. To make the most of Casa Cactus I recommend having your own car (although the hosts can help with arranging a taxi). The place is perfect if you are looking to relax, lay back and enjoy nature, but also be able to get to more lively places like Bacalar which is 20-30 mins by car. Jasmin and Sebastian made everything to ensure our stay would be perfect and gave us great advice on things to do and visit to get a real authentic experience. (They suggested a nearby spot for a beach day on the lagoon. The spot was secluded, and felt very intimate and private, with the jungle in the background, it was a bless compared to the crowds in Bacalar. Furthermore Buenavista is a perfect spot to visit Bacalar, but also other attractions nearby like Mahahual, a town on the Caribbean side, the ruins of Chacchoben or doing guided jungle tour.) Be aware there's not much choice for eating out in Buenavista, but you won't need it with the delicious food prepared by Jasmin. We preferred having dinner at Casa Cactus because of how good it was. Me and my girlfriend had the best stay here and would definitely recommend it.

Great location if you want a quiet area. Fantastic recommendation for a restaurant nearby which we visited 3 times We borrowed the kayaks which are free and went for a paddle. The staff were all very friendly. Easy parking outside the door

    The owner Bernardo welcomes you dearly and has always some good advice up his sleeve :). Accommodation is a little sanctuary in the city center of Bacalar. Huts are comfortable, same as mattresses. You can rent the towel for 50 pesos for your whole stay. Bernardo's son makes delicious breakfasts (extra charge but worth all the money) and whole place feel so homey.

    Luc was very friendly on arrival and throughout our stay. He tried very hard to make up for the short comings of the accommodation. The location is quiet and away from any hustle and bustle of the town and road. The restaurant on site is limited but the staff are friendly and do their best with what they have.

    Really beautiful location tastefully done accommodations. If we’re ever in the area again we will definitely book the spot. I highly recommend to anybody whether you’re staying in Bacalar lot or just passing through... Definitely the place to be. Best rental we’ve had in our four week vacation!

    It is an unique place to stay in Bacalar. Very very nice staff and beautiful bungalows. There is a different vibe than in other accommodations. There is also a nice terrasse and clean toilets/showers to use.

    LOVED this hotel. The accommodations were fantastic. Best stay on our trip through Mexico. The room was spacious and clean, the pool lovely, and the staff genuinely friendly and very helpful. I have already recommended this hotel to friends passing through. Look forward to a future visit!
