Michelle the host was great, he recommended a restaurant and welcomed us to his guesthouse. The location was great with a view of the monastery and only a short walk
away. You will have a lovely time if you stay there. It was a great starting point for the Via Transilvanica!

Very close to Putna train station, and 5 mins walk to Putna monastery. Within a hundred meters of the Via Transylvanica trail and great place to stay to overnight to get ready for walking the trail. Staff were extremely helpful and stored our rucksacks for us( as we arrived by train around 09.00 and could not book in until 14.00) so that we could visit monastery without carrying luggage with us. Food was also good value.
