The shower was phenomenal, the bed was comfortable, and the A/C was superb. I liked that there’s was a little coffee maker complete with filter paper, ground coffee and powdered creamer and I made good use of it in the early morning when I needed to work remotely. Speaking of—the WiFi was excellent and I had no issues with any of the conference calls I had during my stay. Lastly, I’m very impressed with the attentiveness of the staff. There was always someone around to ask for help or get a recommendation, without them being helicopter-y. If you need a nature retreat within easy reach of downtown (if you’re into walking) I wholeheartedly recommend this place! It’s especially perfect if you’re backpacking but want a nice, calm place to stay. The bus drops you off at the bottom of the hill and it’s a 5 minute walk.

Cahal Pech is 13 km from the accommodation, while El Pilar is 29 km away. We loved the surroundings and staff. Rooms are a little older, but very clean and comfortable. Pool was really nice and well maintained. River tubing was fun, but a little hike to get to the entry and exit. We rented a car and drove from Belize City. Was easy to find, but road to the lodge was a bit rough and steep. Missed my AWD/4X4 on the last 2 miles. Meals there were excellent. We did not do the all inclusive. Overall it felt like a land based cruise where our family could do individual things during the day and we could meet up for meals and time at the pool easily.

I dont usually give out 10s easily, but this one is really the best value for money I found in my many travels. A luxury vila for the whole family, clean, spacious, cofortable, new and a nice small private pool on the roof for half the price the room in a nearby resort costs. It really deserves a 10 as there was absolutely nothing wrong and whole family was super happy to stay here.

The property features pool and garden views, and is 18 km from El Pilar. The villa has private entrance. This property and caretaker David just were above and beyond what we could have hoped for! What a beautiful house with all the amenities just minutes from town. Howler monkeys and plenty of birds made every morning memorable. I have never seen such detail and thought go into the decor and feel of each room. We felt at home here and will be back.
