Arrival was delayed due to ferry delays, but stay not affected due to the key box entry. Highly recommend a stay here.

Pottery Museum is 17 km from the guest house and Sancerre Golf Course is 47 km away. This property is a historic canal lock keepers house on the edge of the Loire river and a big park, so you can't have a more authentic room. Host and chef Fillipe takes it to another level with his hospitality and cooking (verify days of week for meals other than breakfast). Our room was large and comfortable with exceptional views. We especially liked the original plank floors. Lunch on the edge of the river was one of our best meals ever. We could have spent several days enjoying the park. If you're biking the Loire River trail (like us) this is a must stay. You haven't fully experienced France if you haven't stayed at Le Relais de Mantelot.

Downstairs is quite spacious and we liked the very well-equipped kitchenette, a little table with dining chairs and a comfortable sofa. Upstairs, the mattress on the bed was firm and comfortable. Parking is just outside. The location is quiet and Neuville-aux-Bois is a small town quite remote from major roads. Beatrice is a friendly and helpful host.

There is a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a seasonal outdoor pool. We liked everything. We had stayed here in July with our granddaughter and we liked it so much that we decided to stay again on our return to UK. The bed is so comfortable as is the bedlinen. Florence and her husband are so welcoming and helpful. The location is in a quiet and calm village which is easily accessible from the main roads. Breakfast was plentiful with homemade produce. Florence had remembered that I was unable to eat wheat and on both occasions had baked a cereal biscuit especially. The outside space had a swimming pool and a table tennis table which we used Thank you for your accueil chaleureux. A la prochaîne annee!!

This was a repeat stay for us at this property - which speaks for itself. The hosts have made quite a few tweaks to their already slick and professionally run chambre d'hote which has made it even more luxurious and comfortable: they really have thought of everything. In particular they have improved their previously adequate parking area and revisited parts of their garden to make it more user friendly for more guests on summer evenings outside. It all confirms their continued quest for the best possible guest experience. The table d'hote meal was excellent. Aperitifs, starter, main, dessert and coffee for 35E - great value given the quality and sophistication of the food. A reasonable selection of payable wines, beers and softs also available. We had a very congenial evening with another non UK couple we had just met - their dietary requirements were subtly handled with ease. All in all there is a great ambience to this place - with comfort, security and a warm welcome assured. We will return no doubt.

The room and beds were very comfortable. The house is charming. An old house with the comfort of a newly renovated modern house.
