Praikamarru Home Stay is located on the edge of a traditional village. Here you can see the Ikat weaving process, beautiful Marapu traditions and architecture and general village life. Eddy, the host has a lot of knowledge he can share because he grew up there. The room has views over the horce racing track. It’s very clean and comfortable.

Sumba Voyage Villa ligt in Rua. Er zijn een tuin, een terras en gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie en je hebt uitzicht op de tuin. The room was new, spacious, and very clean. The owners are incredibly kind and love their dogs (and puppies!) - dog lovers will feel right at home here. There’s no AC, but the cool nights made it perfectly comfortable. The Wi-Fi runs on Starlink, so the connection was strong. And the food… absolutely amazing - probably the best we had in all of Sumba! Don’t miss their famous lobster soup!

The breakfast was excellent. Overall, the experience at the villa was amazing. The villas were very modern and well appointed. The staff really takes care of you at this villa. You are steps away from a private beach with very few people (if any) which is quite the opposite of Bali. The staff brought out a beach chair and a table. I had cocktails on the beach. Staff provided me with snorkeling gear and water shoes as well. I arrived late at night and the staff made sure I had dinner within an hour or so of my arrival. Talk with the staff! They are amazing people and enjoy what they do. My only regret is that I wish I could have stayed longer! You won't regret it!

Morika Villa ligt in Rua, op 17 minuten lopen van Rua Beach, en biedt accommodatie met een buitenzwembad, een terras, een bar en gratis WiFi. Heerlijk luxe, kleinschalig, heerlijk zwembad, prachtig uitzicht, super behulpzaam personeel. Ze hebben zelfs onze was gedaan. Je kan brommertje huren en tours regelen. Dit laatste hebben we niet gedaan dus kan ik niets over zeggen. Het uitzicht over de zee en strand, vanaf het zwembad is prachtig. Bij eb komen de locals zeewier uit zee plukken. Bij het diner kregen we deze als een heerlijke salade. Het eten is ook goed. En vraag vooral wat ze aanbevelen! Ze hebben een eigen groentetuin en de kokkin is nog vrijgezel😜 Tot slot, de kamer is supergroot en schoon en de badkamer is geweldig met een buitenbad en douche.

KANDORA Luxury villas heeft gratis fietsen, een buitenzwembad, een tuin en een privéstrand in Maujawa. It's a family-owned resort, stand right by the beach. Iwan, the manager of the resort, picked us up from the airport. He speaks English well and very friendly. So upon our arrival till departure, all the staffs there, Iwan, Orfi and Angel, were so helpful and tried to make our stay convenient, and to this, we may say they did a super job. 👏👏👏

Umarato Villa Sumba heeft een buitenzwembad, een tuin, een gedeelde lounge en een terras in Rua. One of the most beautiful properties we have seen- the view, the villa and especially the service (Jois was exceptional)- pure luxury. Highly recommended!

Hars Garden Sumba is gelegen in Waingapu en biedt een tuin. Er is gratis privéparkeren en de accommodatie biedt betaalde shuttleservice naar deze luchthaven. This was simply the best experience we had in Indonesia ! The accommodation was amazing, we even got to sleep under the full moon on the rooftop for two nights. The sky was stunning, and the view in the early morning was breathtaking. Breakfast was made with love, using fresh fruits and other ingredients from the garden, absolutely delicious! After breakfast, Bram, the owner's nephew, showed us around the garden and all the beautiful things it has to offer. In the evenings, we gathered around the fire with Bram, who shared our stay with us. He showed us around part of the island, taking us to wonderful places, each more beautiful than the last. We even had the chance to enjoy a night with live singers at an open café-restaurant. We laughed a lot and shared so many great moments together. This place is a true haven of peace, run by passionate and kind people. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you for everything, Bram ! And thank you for your lyrics too ! ;)

Alamayah Boutique Retreat Hotel is gelegen in Deke, op 6 minuten lopen van Strand Watu Bella, en biedt accommodatie met een buitenzwembad, gratis privéparkeren, een fitnesscentrum en een tuin. The hotel is beautifully designed and in a beautiful area very close to some picturesque beaches. The staff are very friendly and attentive and make it easy to organise trips and activities so you can experience Sumba. Surf lessons are a lot of fun and the village tour and waterfall tour are both great. Cocktails were really good, as was the food at breakfast. The hotel seems to have a good relationship with the local people and seems to have genuinely benefitted Sumba.

Maringi Sumba by the Sumba Hospitality Foundation heeft gratis fietsen, een buitenzwembad, een tuin en een terras in Waikelo. The staff here is beyond delightful, they made the stay! Helpful, friendly. The aromatherapy massage was excellent as well!
