This was such a unique property—very remote, yet close to the nearby town of Dalen. The kitchen was well equipped and we made dinner (there were four of us staying in the two cabins) and foraged for mushrooms and berries at the hosts encouragement and guidance. We also utilized the breakfast items and our leftovers to make omelettes in the morning before we left. We used the amazing sauna and small pond on the property in the evening. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were great and the sunrise was unbelievable. The mirrored cabins are not to be missed. We spent a LOT of time taking photos!

Gaustatoppen Lodge - Mountain View - Gaustablikk se encuentra en Rjukan, en la región de Telemark, y dispone de balcón y vistas a la montaña. Well... I have to sit down for this one. This is by far the best apartment I've ever been in. Though brand new, the interior looks and feels like an old mountain lodge. So much little details that makes you feel totally at ease. The size of the balcony with the stupendous view of Gaustatop. Out of this world. The host was very helpful when I had a question. Like the Michelin ratings: * = worth the visit, ** = worth the detour, *** = worth the journey. This is a *** place.

Tuddal Høyfjellshotel se encuentra en Tuddal, a 12 km de Monte Gaustatoppen, y ofrece alojamiento con centro de fitness, parking privado gratis, jardín y terraza. We loved absolutely everything about this gem of a property: the location in a stunning natural environment, the adorable staff, the unique history and decor of the hotel full of collectible and heirloom furniture and, of course the wonderful dinner. Food certainly was a highlight as this is generally where Norway fails to impress us. We were served a fresh, creative, and delicious dinner in the beautiful dining room overlooking the fjell. The chef even adjusted the menu for the vegetarians among us, creating genuine new dishes for us. Wow! Again, that was unexpected as eating veg in Norway is often a challenge. Everything felt authentic and personal in this independently-run property. Dinner starts with a presentation of the history of the place by the owner, their struggles during Covid and how they overcame them. Charmingly, this introduction included the reading of a poem (sadly we don’t understand Norwegian so had to rely on the translation of the presentation afterwards). Every effort is made to be sustainable : There’s a vegetable garden, the delicious bread is baked on the premisses (we took a box of the amazing Flatbrød with us) and the lovely shop sells some local cheese, honey and other specialties including, this being Norway, sweets :) We are already dreaming of a next stay to the Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to experience more of its magic and of the stunning nature around it as our stay this time was way too short. Note to the owners: stay as you are, you are a genuine gem and the world needs more places like yours. Thank you for everything!

Haukeli Husky Fjellgård se encuentra en Haukeli, en la región de Telemark, y ofrece alojamiento con wifi gratis y parking privado gratis. El agroturismo ofrece terraza. Nice cozy house with a fully equipped kitchen, cozy sitting areas and big bedrooms! Lovely couple who ran the place, they do husky sled pulling during winter so there were lots of dogs around. We were lucky enough to have the whole place for ourselves. We thoroughly loved our stay and it truly was the best stay in Norway so far.

El Telemark Camping está situado junto al lago Skredvatn y ofrece alojamientos independientes en Hauggrend. Este camping resort ofrece conexión WiFi gratuita. We LOVED our stay at Telemark camping. The camping is small so it did not feel overcrowded at all - when we stayed there wasn't more than 10 to 15 people at the same time. The location is splendid on the side of a small lake and the view from our cabin was beautiful. There are a few boats on the shore that at disposal and we were able to borrow a rowing boat and spent a day on the lake just exploring. There are so many equipment to use that in 4 days we didn't even get a chance to use them all (bbq, sauna, fishing poles etc). Lots of hikes in the area as well The showers were clean and free
