Love Mackay....Bitanical Gardens are within walking of distance of the Mackay Motel great coffee and food in a very beautiful environment, take a drive down to the river and Blue Water Quay the walking track goes right along the Pioneer River a blue water river

The whole place has gone downhill massively over the last, 10 years, the place used to be vibrant well kept, the motels used to be quite flash, now you can barely read there signs, it's quite sad to see the decline, had some fond memories in the area in my younger years

Mackay Harbour and foreshore are a must visit, beautifully landscapped with quality building, shops, and fish & chips. 2. Mackay Botanic Gardens are a must visit, and are superior to most gardens. Lovely paths and signposted plants, all overlooking a pretty lagoon. Cafe has splended views. 3. at $0.50c per trip, explore Mackay by riding the Bus network to get an overview of this boom town

I attended a cricket game at Harrup Park, which I had never been to before. Google maps made it easy to find and the facilities are amazing. One afternoon, I walked the Mackay Bluewater Trail. It was interesting and I felt safe on the trail.

Mackay is a beautiful coastal spot, I'm planning another trip there soon. We visited the Marina, and did some shopping at Canelands. We attended an Engagement party with family there and the venue was beautifully set up, staff were so friendly and the weather was beautiful for a swim and fish and chips.
