Location and Transport
Recife/Guararapes-Gilberto Freyre International Airport is located just under 7 miles (11 kilometres) from downtown Recife. The easiest way to reach the city is via the MetroRec metro system, with the platform located opposite the airport by Minister Salgado Filho Square. The journey to central Recife takes around 15 minutes. The airport also has a taxi rank, with prices around BRL 10 to reach Boa Viagem, and BRL 25 to the city centre.
Nearby Hotels and Airport Facilities
Two hotels are located less than 1 mile (around 2 kilometres) from the airport and offer a free shuttle service. There’s also a capsule hotel situated within the airport boarding area. Inside the airport, you’ll find a number of shops and restaurants, as well as a post office.
