Good location and comfortable room and bed. The staff is very helpful and we were able to check in earlier. The breakfast is plentiful and the view from the restaurant is breathtaking. There are also some good restaurants nearby and fast food places in the airport terminal.which is minutes away.

We had a wonderful stay at the Novotel RJ Santos hotel. Without exception all of the staff made us feel very welcome. We don’t speak Portuguese but everyone made a great effort to either speak English to us or to understand what we wanted. We had breakfast and our evening meals at the hotel every day and both were exceptional. The food was delicious and great value for money. Our room was spotlessly clean. If we go to Rio de Janeiro again we will definitely choose to stay at this hotel.

There is nothing which I can write about Rio and that will do justice to this beautiful city. One of a kind and so many beaches - Copacabana, Leblon , Botafogo , and many more. God made this city a unique.

Niteroi is different from Rio.
Niteroi is different from Rio. Is not as touristy or big as Rio de Janeiro, but it preserves much of the good things Rio has. For instance, food can be very cheap or expensive and still you can be surprised with great flavours. The park of the city is a must to visit and see the landscape from the hill, the fortaleza is also worth visiting. From Niteroi you can go to Rio by boat in a one day or two-day trip. But also you can visit other beaches towards the ocean not as populated or touristy as copacabana or Ipanema. If you are looking for a place more quiet and less touristy than Rio de Janeiro, then Niteroi and San Francisco are going to be good choices. No metro or stadiums in Niteroi

First of all Brazilian people are amazing !
First of all Brazilian people are amazing ! They are very welcoming ! Second there is a lot of things to see and to do. We spent three days but would be happy to spend even more .
Our favorite places Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf mountain in the evening. The view from Sugarloaf mountain is incredible !

Niteroi is about the same distance from the International...
Niteroi is about the same distance from the International Airport as the more famous South Zone (Copacabana. Ipanema). The Niteroi Palace Hotel is in town, walking distance from Shopping Centre and the 30 min relaxing ferry boats to Rio City Centre. Very Good nearby "home cooking by weight" lunch only restaurant - ask Desk for simple direction. Few central night-time restaurants, but there are some within (secure) taxi distance. Avoid sitting street side for snacks/coffee and not to attract attention to multiple hand/carry bags.

Rio de Janeiro has real visual delights and visual interest is everywhere. It is softer than São Paulo and has a super exotic and old-world feel in parts. The food is good and the beaches of course are legendary. It has a timeless feel and is not overly branded. Not a part of the American world, which his great. You can spend two weeks in Rio and forget that the USA exists. Which is really great about Brazil in general.
