I’ve stayed in several Village Hotels, and this Southampton location stands out. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the gym is well-equipped, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout my stay.

Eastleigh is nice for an evening walk. We used the property as a starting point to travel to nearby locations by train (train station opposite of the property) or by car with friends (car park next to the train station). One stop from the airport; no noise from air traffic at all.

Terrible Experience – Definitely Not a 4-Star Hotel & I Will Never Return
My stay at this hotel was completely unacceptable. This place is nowhere near a 4-star standard. I was left uncomfortable and disturbed during what was supposed to be a private stay, with no heating for over five hours, no way to contact staff, and outdated, poorly maintained facilities.
Nothing was explained at check-in—no QR code, no information, nothing. I had zero support when issues occurred, and the response I received afterwards was dismissive and unprofessional.
This stay caused significant inconvenience and distress, and the hotel’s refusal to offer proper compensation shows a complete lack of care for guests.
I will never return, and I strongly advise others to think twice before booking.

It’s the first time we’ve been to Botley and we thought it was a lovely little village. We would definitely visit there again, especially in the summer. We couldn’t really find anything we didn’t like about it. Otters green was only a five minute walk away

Situated on a very busy noisy road, but perfect if you are wanting to stay close to Warsash & Hamble.
Would definitely recommend having a car although buses run every half hour into Southampton. Also train nearby.
Excellent coffee shop called the ‘Boathouse’ in the Marina.

Eastleigh is an area with beautiful quaint English towns and villages to visit.
There are numerous small shops/businesses and plenty restaurants and cafes to enjoy.
It is also the perfect location for visiting Southampton ad the New Hampshire Forest.

In a nutshell, Otters Green was one of the best b & b's we have stayed in. A comfortable and cosy room, with everything we needed. We could not fault it in any way. The breakfast was tasty and varied, much more than we expected for a continental breakfast. We would recommend the Dolphin pub in Botley for a warm welcome and excellent food.

There was a pub called the Old Ship next door to where we were staying which had a great selection of food and drink, there were several places to eat and drink within walking distance. Harper's ( breakfast - two full English for £16) the Jolly Sailor and the Seahorse. There is a lovely walk along the river to Riverside social which was a nice place to eat . We walked up to the Brick museum which was an interesting morning, £7 each ( or £8 each with a charity donation)

We were disappointed that the pier ferry wasn't working but the pier and the train were very interesting - lots of plaques on the pier with interesting information and lots of inscriptions on the planks on the pier.
The town was very nice - a surprising number of different shops in such a small area.
The town centre and pier within very easy walking distance from the Boathouse hotel. Good meals served there with a good selection at reasonable prices.
