We spent 3 full days exploring the island. The lodge is close enough to town for access to restaurants and stores, but also far enough away to feel closer to the countryside. We explored the island one day by car and two days by ebike. The rooms are comfortable, with good AC after a long day of hiking/biking. Fully accessible kitchen if you're into cooking, clean bathrooms, and showers. Our host spoke English and Japanese. We chatted over sake on our final evening and met a few other visitors. Overall we had a wonderful experience!

The owner was extremely friendly and full of advice, he offered to pick me up from the ferry and transport me to the airport for my flight out. He even rode me to the hospital when I fell ill. The room is basic but very clean, and the hotel is close to the Hokenjo bus station and walking distance to Asanuma supermarket. The building itself is very old and the entrance might be hard to locate at first but if you find Pot Hall you are in the right place, just walk around for the 2F entrance to Forte.
