Quiet mainly residential area. Beautiful long sandy beaches Long board walks that connect beaches. Great walks and cycling in area A trip to Loulé is a must and Faro old town and beach is easily accessible. Great restaurants all along beach.

Faro has a contrast in neighborhoods.
Faro has a contrast in neighborhoods. Some parts look really rundown and others not so much. Given this city is in the Algarve region, a lot of visitors must come through, and this has given the city a bit of an edge (this observation is based only on a couple of days in Faro, during the "shoulder" travel season in Portugal).

We stayed in Faro overnight to catch an early morning flight.
We stayed in Faro overnight to catch an early morning flight. We went to the historical part of town and walked around. It was fine but rather unremarkable. However, there is a large shopping center in Faro with an Auchan Supermarket. This shopping center was fantastic, beautiful with nice water features and a large food center with relaxing outdoor seating.

Not child/ family friendly. Outdoor pool freezing. Indoor pool reserved for adults only even though when we booked it had children’s times scheduled. Main reason we booked was for the indoor pool. Very isolated if you don’t have a car. Otherwise everything was as expected in a 5star hotel.

Faro is a charming and peaceful city with a beautiful old town. I especially enjoyed the three nearby islands, each with its own unique character. A real highlight was Ilha Deserta, with its tranquility and natural beauty. It’s very easy to get around Faro, and many places are within walking distance. A boat trip to the islands is definitely worth it. Overall, highly recommended

Perfect accommodation, large terrace, beautiful kitchen with all appliances we needed. Good choice of restaurants in the area. Amazing holiday destination which we will definitely be returning. Only negative point was that there was not a suitcase stand as we do not like to place suitcases on bed when emptying. Beautiful, comfy large bed with large bathroom. Summary =the perfect holiday, thankyou Quinta do Lago Country Club.
