Kiang and her husband Tee embody everything good about Thai hospitality and efficiency. My brother and I unfortunately only had one night we could stay with them because we were meeting up with my brother's family and they had already made reservations the following nights at another guest house. We chose 188 Teak House because it was close to the airport and we needed to pick up his family the following day. We arrived late, around 8:30 pm and had arranged for a transfer. To our surprise, it was Kiang herself who picked us up. It was Saturday night and Kiang offered to take us to the Saturday night market, which is a short 5-minute drive away. She then offered to pick us up when the market closed around 11pm. The next morning she offered to and then made a delicious breakfast for us with eggs, ham, sausage, toast, fruit, tea and coffee, and the guest house does normally not serve breakfast. She then drove us to the airport so we could pick up my brother's family. The only thing she wanted to charge us for was the initial transfer and we had to insist in paying her extra for the other rides and breakfast, but she gave us a big discount and didn't want us to pay her at all for breakfast. I hesitate in mentioning this in this review because other travelers may expect the same treatment and I didn't want to place Kiang and Tee in an uncomfortable situation. All I can say is, please do not take advantage of their warm hospitality and do pay them a fair price if they offer to go beyond what is included in the reservation. As for the guest house, the pictures do not do it justice. It is a beautiful two-story teak guest house and is practically brand new. Everything was spotless, the beds and pillows very comfortable, the air conditioner worked flawlessly and the bathroom large and very modern with an excellent hot water shower, and the room opened up to a large balcony over-looking a koi pond where we had our delicious breakfast.

We arrived past midnight and reception is only until 11pm or so but we were able to check in smoothly thru call. The hostel is also safe, clean and quiet. Great value.

Necesito mas dias aqui! Muy tranquila, la gente muy acogedora, un pueblo tipico asiatico. Se come muy bien en cualquier sitio y no huele mal como bangkok. Ademas, tiene muchisimas cafeterias curiosas. Es estupendo y con muchas cosas que hacer alrededor.

La ciudad en sí merece la pena como base para las múltiples actividades sobre todo en la naturaleza, q se pueden hacer desde aquí. Es muy limpia a pesar d que toda ella es como un extenso mercadillo. La old city tiene callecitas estrechas, bonitas , con casas bajitas e infinidad de terrazas donde puedes comer o tomar variedad de batidos. El tráfico es muy denso pero la gente tranquila y sonriente, y sin dar la sensación de caos como en otras partes
