It's a Japanese style hostel so all of the bunks have curtains to partition yourself off. In addition, the bunk areas had curtains. The rooms were very quiet and serene (aside from someone snoring!).

Staff were soo kind! There were complimentary coffee and tea and cookies in the lobby throughout the day. Breakfast was also included and was very tasty with fresh ingredients. The room was lovely with a very clean bathroom and huge tub. There were also lots of shops/cafes and restaurants so close and a 7/11 2 mins away. 100% coming back again.

We stayed in Delight hotel for 6 nights in VIP suite during mid-Feb. The hotel is overall in good condition and only 3min walk to Nanjing-Fuxing MRT station. Our room was clean and spotless. The breakfast has both Asian and Western options and was available from 7AM til 10AM. We once arrived at the hotel restaurant just as it was about to close but the lady was kind enough to serve us food. The staffs speak fluent English and are willing to go out of their ways to help us with our problems. There is also a coin-operated laundry machine at the premises, with reasonable price (60 TWD for 45min). The detergent can also be bought at the receptionist which is very convenient. 10/10 Would definitely stay at this place again.

The highlight of my trip was my morning stroll by the riverside. It was a peaceful Sunday morning. The weather was cool and it was not that sunny. In contrast with the hustle and bustle of the previous Saturday evening (which was also a sight to behold), there were not a lot of people at the plaza and the park apart from some joggers and men fishing in the river.
I culminated my stroll with a visit to one of the popular eateries in the neighbourhood serving authentic a-gei (淡水老牌阿給 創始店, No. 6之1號, Zhenli St, Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan 251). This was one of the reasons I wanted to visit Tamsui. I ordered a-gei with a side of fish ball soup. And it did not disappoint. The a-gei was very filling and flavourful. It reminded me of sotanghon I used to eat back home. The fish balls, on the other hand, were packed with filling and immersed in a hot peppery soup.
I was looking for a relaxing/restful experience for my weekend trip. I definitely got that during my stay in Tamsui.

Spent a couple of trips x couple of nights stationed at Linkou - a lovely residential estate great for shopping and dining. Easy access by MRT and bus to other parts (e.g. Guanyin Temple about 20mins away by bus). Good stopover before or after flight from Taoyuan Airport!

Difficulty communicating with most taxi drivers but was thankful to the hotel staff for having the location written in Tai language making it easier. In addition, unfortunately I was not able to do site seeing as my time schedule was tight for attendance for the medical conference.

Good for walking along the riverside. More interesting if you wander up the back streets.The hotel staff didn’t know where a laundry was but found a laundromat 5 minutes walk away - turn right and walk up the hill - take the first lane on the right and its on the left - self service with washing and drying machines - new and clean.

I loved Tamsui, where the hotel is located. The old part of town was around the corner and 7 min. walk away is the long waterfront with hundreds of food stalls, restaurants and lots of people having a good time strolling, flying kites and eating delicious local foods.
The hotel was ok but dated. The mattresses were not comfortable and the air conditioner didn’t work.
