We arrived to the airport at 3 am. I wrote to Shivo Guest house a few day ahead and they arranged for a driver to wait for us and take us to the hotel. For a really fair price. The accomodation was clean, safe well maintained. The breakfast was delicious. We had a bit of a problem, because we were accidentally double charged. But the staff made great effort and sorted it out on the spot. I would recommend this place, especially if you need a place to stay just after or before your flight!

The location was perfect few minutes from the airport but quite. Supermarket nearby. The staff was so kind they prepare the nice dinner for us despite we arrive at late night. The breakfast was so good as well. Amazing price worth the money.

Ramia was amazing ,very helpful and answered all my questions, which made my first trip to Zanzibar so much easier. I arrived after midnight and they still came to pick me up from the airport and brought me to the accommodation, which I really appreciated. I stayed 4 nights with my 11 year old son on Chumbe island. It was great to have time to feel at home and explore. Many visitors come just for the day and miss out on the lovely candle lit dinners on the sand, the crab walks and the overall relaxed atmosphere

Lots of cute little streets and lane ways full of restaurants and souvenir shops. The streets are narrow so be vigilant to traffic and motor bikes.
Streets are also relatively clean. A good effort has been made in this respect by local authorities . We saw a few garbage bins and even saw a few recycle bins . Congratulations on tour efforts. Keep it up

It is the gateway to Zanzibar when you had an early morning, late night or even a long flight just to relax. The establishments are helpful and so are the locals. You can take a cheaper Tuktuk or more expensive private taxi, spend about 20 minutes to Stone Town where you will be able to do many tours at or from. If you have never been on a Tuktuk it could be an opportunity to have a time of your life bumping and breaking as it pass thorough traffic. You also can choose to rent a car if you willing to drive there. Just remember that most roads are small and speed limit is lower than other countries. While you there, there are motorcycles, pedestrians, tuktuks and other cars that buzz everywhere, if you choose to rent a car. The wind from the open top part of the doors in refreshing. Note that the locals may not speak English as good as you, so speak slower and clearly. They are very helpful. There are supermarkets, restaurants, accommodations in different styles in Kiembi Samaki.
You can book tours directly from there to other areas. Though I would advise to go further inwards the country once you are done with sightseeing. Then book a night just before your flight so that you are closer to the airport.
I used a supermarket on the main road (Nyerere) to buy supplies. It is next to a Last Minute Safari offices. Just next to it there is a Hotel with restaurant. I used a mixture of Tuktuk and private taxi to commute. Make sure you have Tanzanian Shilling to be able to use around. Take the name of establishment, street and landmarks should you use a tuktuk so that you can explain when you come back.
lastly, relax because Zanzibar is a very safe place. ofcourse caution is needed, but not like in many countries.

This was a great introduction to the life in the islands. We enjoyed snorkeling very much with a knowledgeable and safe guided private experience. The food was good and served in unique places each meal. My 14-year old and I made great memories together here that will last a lifetime!

Enjoyed the overall 'happy' atmosphere that is all around at Stone Town, you feel perfectly safe, everybody is friendly, nobody is harassing you. Typically enjoyed walking through the narrow streets of Stone Town, sniffing up all kinds of scents.

Stone Town was adorable, easy, and fun to walk around! There were lots of good restaurants, shops to poke your head into, hotels with rooftop bars, and interesting history and architecture. The main market is packed with spices, nuts, fruit, and more, and is very interesting without being too overwhelming.

Also very near place to catch the private car or public car as some wishes and very quiet place,
And what the most wonderful the Host are very helpful, friendly and very responsible to their guests and much more welcomed to their guests.
We really had a good time and enjoyable time
I shall be back soon there.
I'm much more recommend to the Guests/Tourist to this Host House/Apartment
