Hotels near Central Nebraska Regional Airport - GRI, Grand Island

I stayed in Grand Island on my way to my real destination. For navigation, I relied on Siri. I couldn't tell you how I got into or out of this town but it seemed convoluted. Lot's of fast food choices for those in a hurry which I am always in.

We just stayed in GI to visit family and they were moving a newborn into the bedroom we usually stayed in at their house..so no bed for us..so we booked this hotel for two nights..I'm from this area, but live in Colorado now..really not much to do in GI..

Despite being a smaller town, Grand Island has several ethnic restaurants to suit the adventurous eater. Railside is a fun, revitalized area that offers visitors several options for drinks, eats, and late night entertainment.

We were there to visit family who live in Grand Island and in the surrounding area..no much to do or see in Grand Island and the restaurants are terrible if you prefer healthy food. Many drivers are erratic and drive too fast..be very careful when crossing intersections.

We visited just after Grand Island experienced a large amount of rainfall and some streets were closed due to flooding. Otherwise, it was very easy to get around and find the places we were looking for. Detours were very clearly marked and easy to follow. If you visit Grand Island, you HAVE to visit Coney Island downtown! It's great food in a historic location. Ruthie's Steak and Seafood was worth the price. Comfortable atmosphere with excellent views.

Grand Island has changed so much since I lived their in the late 1970's. I truly love coming back at least once or twice a year. The changes that have occurred with both, business and residential development are outstanding. It's very clean and well kept compared to other cities I've been to. The development at Fonner Park is excellent, especially for a city of this size. You have a facility that can handle most any size event. I made this trip to be part of Husker Harvest Days. This is a tremendous event that Nebraskans can be proud of. I wasn't able to try different restaurants due to time, but when I get to Nebraska, I fill up on enough Runza's to hold me over until I get back.
