Exactly where I needed to be to catch an early flight in the morning. Very flexible reaction fron reception person when I arrived ages before check in time - she found a room for me that was available immediately. Very nice on-site restaurant for lunch and dinner - the avocado and mango guacamole was exceptionally delicious. I spent the afternoon at the pool. There was a chairlift, which makes access so much easier for me. The evening meal was great, and enhanced by a very good live band playing and singing songs from the sixties and seventies. An "on the house" Mai Tai was a delightful addition. Thank you

Attentive landlord. Can feel that owner make good effort in making the stay as comfortable as possible. Nice room with ocean view though not full due to other blocks in front of it.

Honolulu International Airport (HNL) Information
Location and Transport
Situated 6 miles (9 kilometres) northwest of central Honolulu, Honolulu International Airport (also known as 'Daniel K. Inouye International Airport') is connected by local buses, which depart every 30 minutes. Alternatively, the ‘SpeediShuttle’ bus provides a door-to-door pickup service, departing from Waikiki or Honolulu Harbor, while Taxicabs cost between USD 40 and take about 15 minutes.
Nearby Hotels and Airport Facilities
Travellers with scheduled stopovers or unexpected delays can choose between several hotels near the airport. Some hotels provide a shuttle service. Despite the crowds, staff at Hawaii’s biggest airport still greet visitors with ‘Lei’ – handmade fresh flower garlands – when arranged upon request. This is just a taster of things to come, with other attractions like ‘Cultural Gardens’ and a variety of artwork and murals found inside. Other services include duty-free shopping, ATMs and storage facilities.
Terminal Information
A wheelchair-friendly shuttle bus links the airport’s three terminals, operating regularly between 06:00 and 10:00. Catching a connecting flight at Honolulu International will require travellers to pass through immigration - a passport, visa or ESTA may be necessary.

Stayed at Alohilani Waikiki Resort, the best in my experiences in hotels so far. Visited Duke's restaurant, loved the buffet there. Overall, Honolulu was amazing. There are plenty of things to do and see in Honolulu, but if you don’t have any plans, you can simply relax on the beach or take a swim in the ocean. Sometimes, doing nothing is the best part of the experience. I really appreciated the cleanliness and the fresh smell every morning. I'm actually considering retiring in Hawaii and would like to explore the other islands as well. I didn’t encounter anything negative during my time there, so I can’t suggest what to avoid. However, we were advised to be cautious of "very friendly" neighbors in the East.

Location was exactly what we were looking for away from the chaos of Honolulu. Paradise Bay Resort is a great place to stay, Whiskey Smoke 808 Bar-b-Q is a good value, and Haleiwa Joe's Haiku Gardens is good but pricey. Enough stores and other options to have snacks for the room. Enough beach choices and other activities within a short drive.

Beautiful beach, that was the best part.
Beautiful beach, that was the best part. The prices in Hawaii are ridiculous. Very high. The are grocery stores that you can buy your own food and cook if you have a kitchen. Nice people. My fav was the taco truck that had such good fresh healthy food. I would eat there everyday. He was on Kihapai st and oneawa st , late in the evening. Best recommendation.
Its mostly safe, some homeless here and there not much in the residential areas. Few bars from high end, to crossroads to Kailua tavern that has the best karaoke bartender you have ever heard. He sings and makes your drinks.
Food is ok, if you are a foodies it's hit and miss.. in the restaurants..
Super fun, you can get amazing surfing cheap lessons with Mike and Andy at 808 Surt School by Kamehameha Hwy opposite of the shrimp shack.
Lot of great experiences, so much beautiful sun. Beautiful place. We'll be back.

It was excellent.
It was excellent. A unique blend of modernization with different cultures from European, to Asian , to Pacific Islanders, African to Latino making Honolulu a marvel to visit. Ala Moana Mall is just the greatest, with all the different items and services available including Food Courts showcasing the different cultures in Honolulu. Please do stop by Yugur Story Restaurant, they serve
the famous Ube Pancake along with other savory entrees,

Although I thought the room needed upgrading, the property itself was lovely and the staff was great. I really enjoyed the easy-going feel of the place - just what I needed. It was often cloudy in the morning but sun came out in the afternoon. We rented a car which worked out great but they do charge a 15$ fee for parking each day. Overall I would stay again and would recommend to friends.

The Bishop Museum is full of fascinating exhibits and is worth a full day visit. Parking and entry is expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Tip: If you are in the Waikiki area try the Mai Tais at sunset at each of the beach hotels -- Outrigger, Halekulani, Royal Hawaiian, etc -- working you way down the beach. They are all different and delicious.
