Here’s the TL;DR before the long version: Don’t think twice, book Nova. It’ll be worth every penny, the facilities are top notch and state of the art (barely 2 years old) and the staff is the most amazing in the world. Now, let’s dive in. The experience begins with Ms Zhou at arrivals welcoming you along with the front office team. You’re shown around the island, where you see Wink (the social hub of the island), the state of the art gym, and white sand beaches. The villas are out of this world, spacious, well ACed, and with good access to the water. You don’t spend much time in the room however, because you’ll be eating at Soul Kitchen, where Evi, Bee, Sinhala, Anggi, Manoj and the wok-master himself James prepare you the best meals at restaurant level you can have. Not once do you feel like it’s a buffet, because the quality is so high. At breakfast, make sure to grab a sweet bite from the pastry chef Ms. Bee, or a perfectly cooked each time eggs Benedict from Anggi. At lunch or dinner, be sure to get a live-cooking rice from James, Sinhala or Manoj - the wok hei taste is something that you cannot replicate without their years of experience. Big shout out to Chef James for helping me build up my spice tolerance. The state of the art cooking is supplemented by the attentive staff, who don’t let a day pass by without pampering you. Huge thanks to the entire team, especially Mohammed, Shaee, Jailam, Angunn, Lee, Heidi, Fitri, Kadek and of course Muneeb. When catching the sunset in the Solis Pool Bar, a cocktail from one of Sri Lanka’s best - Sandun - is a must. (Though the first place is closely tied with Krishan from Wink, also Sri Lanka). Sandun makes the perfect cocktails, easily carries the conversation and has insightful comments. Wink - the social hub of the entire island.

Het was een super goeie ervaring met heel vriendelijk personeel en zeer lekker eten! Daarnaast was het belangrijkste voor ons de koraalriffen en er waren er 3 verschillende die onmiddellijk aan het strand liggen= ideaal! We gingen 3x per dag snorkelen. Aanrader om tochten te maken: de familie dagtocht of de Mantarog dagtocht!

Koimala Hotel heeft gratis fietsen, een privéstrand, een gedeelde lounge en een terras in Maamigili. Wij hebben hier een geweldige tijd gehad. Het hotel ziet er schoon en netjes uit. Het personeel is super lief en behulpzaam. Wij kwamen hier voor de onderwater wereld en die hebben we ook gezien. Met de speedboot weten Ripon en Dragon de plekken te vinden waar je de walvishaai, mantaroggen, schildpadden en dolfijnen kunt zien. Echt fantastisch mooi. Maar ook boven water weten ze je naar mooie plekjes te brengen op andere eilanden in de buurt. Wij bevelen Koimala Hotel zeker aan als je ook geïnteresseerd bent in snorkelen met deze geweldige dieren en houdt van relaxen op mooie plekken.

Onder de resorts in de Malediven, Outrigger Malediven Maafushivaru Resort is het ultieme eiland belichaming alles waar men droomt van bij het denken aan de Malediven. We had a fantastic experience! The overwater villa was superb, the food was unbelievably good, and the staff was friendly. The place is very well-cleaned, with the whitest softest sand and flowers everywhere. Dmitrii was super helpful and made us feel comfortable and cared for: he was very friendly and pleasant to talk to, explained everything, gave attention to even the smallest details and somehow just instantly made us feel relaxed. He also suggested we take a spa treatment, which was fantastic. We also learned a lot from him about the Maldives, seasons, different types of activities and so on. So if Dmitrii is your manager, you are in excellent hands. They have several restaurants and a coffee shop where they sell deserts, coffee and milkshakes. There are a lot of cosy chairs to sit on, we never struggled to find a spot - be it near the pool or under a roof or with the view of the ocean. The watersport centre offers many activities, but we only took fins and did some snorkelling. We saw a lot of fish, and even a relatively large shark - it's harmless though, and we were really looking to find it, you won't encounter it when simply swimming :) The food deserves the highest review: the variety of fruits and vegetables, delicious hot dishes and bites, all sorts of souses, salads, bakery. The chiefs are professionals, everything was perfect. Literally, every detail is taken care of, all that was left to us is relax and enjoy.

Het eiland is niet te groot, rustig, net waar wij op zoek naar waren.
