sea side view, near to shopping and onsen experience, great Japanese breakfest
There really was a lot of space, especially for Japanese standards, so perfect for my tall partner who could finally stretch. We also enjoyed the big TV, although we had some problems connecting to streaming apps. We did not meet the owner but had some friendly interactions, and we found that the people from Oita are very kind and helpful. Great experience!
Excellent location, only five minute walk from bus station, and the big supermarket is only cross local road. The place is so perfect, especially onsen pond in the tradition Japanese house. Checkin and checkout were very convenient.
Location gave us uninterrupted bay view, quiet without street noise. The layout of the room amenities bathrobes Japanese house clothes all added to the experience. Breakfast was sumptuous . Access to a private hot tub was well used.
Very spacious and comfortable room with nice view over Beppu. The welcome snacks and drinks on the terrace were a really lovely way to start the evening. Breakfast was quite elegant if you like Japanese style breakfast, but maybe wouldn’t be suitable if you prefer western food. Very good value.
The staff was very friendly. We arrived late for dinner (see below). The manager (or owner?) called a store and asked them to wait for us and close a bit later so we can get something to eat. Then he asked an employee to accompany us to the store. The area where the hotel is located is very nice. You can take some nice short walk around. The room was big for Japanese Standards.
Very friendly staff, spacious room, great onsen, sea view, good Japanese breakfast (not self-service). Reasonably close to the train station (we walked) and town shops/restaurants.
Love the vibe and the staff The Japanese room was very comfortable and we had our own bathroom. There’s also free bicycle you can borrow!
Beautiful well maintained property from the 1930s. Feels like you’re living in history but also at your Japanese relatives house. Staff are so warm and friendly - like genuinely not in the mandatory customer service kind of way. I left my adapter there and they promptly notified me and sent it to me without charge !
Location was perfect for us. Next to the railway station, across from the bus station and between the two main areas of the town. The staff were so helpful, friendly and patient with our lack of Japanese. Great onsen and laundry facilities. Wonderful restaurant. We loved our Japanese breakfasts but they had other choices. The rooms had everything we needed. Lovely opening the curtains in the morning to look over the town and up to the mountains.
