We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The view of the Lion Rock is fantastic! The cabin was perfect for us:) Peter called me when we arrived and explained all ins and outs of the area and gave us some great advice. He was happy to answer any of our questions any time of the day. The cabin with its garden are very private and amazing for some wildlife spotting. Our kids loved it. There is also a wood-fired pizza oven in the garden. Sumith put the fire on for us and Raja swiftly organised and delivered yeast and flour from the local bakery for our pizza baking experience:) We all had a lot of fun kneading the dough and baking pizza in a real outdoor pizza oven! It was delicious:). We used bicycles provided free of charge, washing machine and there is a drinking water dispenser in the cabin, so no need to buy bottled water:) We loved seeing wild chickens coming to the garden and peacocks were always a good entertainment for the kids;) Sumith brought us, freshly picked from the garden, jackfruit to try;)

What can I say about Sajee and his family! We stayed in one of their rooms for 6 nights to rest and explore the area and they made us feel like family the whole time! The room was very clean, the mattress and pillows very comfortable and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. My favourite part was the patio in the front surrounded by trees and nature. All we could hear for days was the sound of the animals which was sooo relaxing! We spent hours relaxing and reading our books there. He also had excellent breakfast every morning, home cooked, and we were asked very often if we needed something (towels, cleaning, toilet paper etc). His son also took really good care of us. He gave us local teas and snacks to try which was so nice. They also helped us with our Tuktuk a couple of times that we needed it. We can’t thank them enough🙏🏼 we will definitely be back! Tip: while you’re there try the cooking class they offer once daily but book a few days in advance to be sure! People were coming every day for the class and we decided to try it too and didn’t regret it. We learned so much about the local cuisine and spices and we had such a delicious meal in the end🙏🏼

The Lotus Villa Sigiriya se encuentra a solo 5,1 km de Pidurangala Rock y ofrece alojamiento en Sigiriya con jardín y terraza, además de servicio de habitaciones. The location was just a short 500 meters walk from main street (or a 3 min tuktuk), right at the edge of a beautiful rice field. Rooms were big and comfy, with mosquito netting around beds. Nice bathroom. The best part was the host, who served us nice sri lankan breakfasts, shared valuable info of the area and really looked after us while we were there. We are driving our own rented tuktuk, and he was happy to help with mechanics, and also there was good parking space. They are still building some parts of this place (putting in a pool!), so i think it will be even better. No construction sounds during the evening/night/morning. Great value for the price, would stay here again!
