The location is great - right next to the beach if that is your thing and about 40 minutes to the heart of ancient Rome on the train (Trains about every 20 minutes and €1.50 for journeys of 100 minutes or less). It was great to be able to escape the heat and bustle of central Rome and head back to the seaside at the end of each day. Plenty of restaurants to choose from in Ostia, especially if you like fish! It would definitely need a big renovation, as everything seems very old and worn, but rooms are clean and comfy, perfect for a short stay.
