Have stayed in many NZ baches & this was amongst the best, with some very classy & stylish fittings. The wood carving & bird feeder added extra interest. Easy walk to the lovely sandy Omaui beach & a terrific bush walk up through the reserve. Gorgeous pansies & Lilly's in the room on arrival

Mike and Pam were absolutely brilliant hosts: knowledgeable, attentive (without being intrusive). They gave us the feeling that nothing was too much trouble and were helpful, friendly and wonderful from start to finish. The hotel is right next to the Ferry Terminal (literally across the road if you’re going to Stewart Island, Rakiura), there’s a little Four Square Supermarket a couple of doors down for all the essentials and some great choices for dinner if you’re around in the evening. The beds were lovely and comfortable. Linen was immaculate and excellent quality and the hotel has some brilliant original Art Deco features and character, plus a bar and lounge to relax after an days adventuring!

Lovely house with a wee beach across the road. Nice and roomy with good sunlight through the windows. Main bed upstairs was a bit hard for me but others were fine. Oysters and fish and chip heaven. Met some really nice locals at the Golden Arm pub.
