Iwan, the manager of the resort, picked us up from the airport. He speaks English well and very friendly. So upon our arrival till departure, all the staffs there, Iwan, Orfi and Angel, were so helpful and tried to make our stay convenient, and to this, we may say they did a super job. 👏👏👏

Alamayah Boutique Retreat Hotel está en Deke, a 6 min a pie de Playa Watu Bella, y dispone de alojamiento con piscina al aire libre, parking privado gratis, centro de fitness y jardín. The hotel is beautifully designed and in a beautiful area very close to some picturesque beaches. The staff are very friendly and attentive and make it easy to organise trips and activities so you can experience Sumba. Surf lessons are a lot of fun and the village tour and waterfall tour are both great. Cocktails were really good, as was the food at breakfast. The hotel seems to have a good relationship with the local people and seems to have genuinely benefitted Sumba.

NIHI Sumba - 50 Best Hotels of the World tiene jardín, zona de playa privada, salón de uso común y terraza en Watukarere. Everything! Staying a Nihi is a wonderful experience. The staff was super attentive even before we arrived at the property and after they dropped us at the airport. Sumba is a beautiful island and the Nihi area didn’t disappoint, highly recommend strolling around the beach! Of course don’t miss the horses, it was dreamy. Our villa was stunning, everything was spotless. We had a massage in our room and was one of the best ones we’ve ever had! Food and drinks were also superb, great selection to choose from. We are only sad we couldn’t stay longer!

Location was unbeatable. Right on the beach with first class views of the sunrise, sunset and horses buffalo and locals as they went about daily life. Absolutely stunning authentic experience set in luxurious design and stylish interiors. Exceptional welcome, the owners enjoying the surf everyday and inviting us to join made it all feel so wholesome and heartfelt. This place is more than a hotel, it’s someone’s love letter to the island of Sumba and the passion project is infectious. Didn’t want to leave this serene and magical place: thanks for having us !

El Lelewatu Resort Sumba ofrece WiFi gratuita y habitaciones con aire acondicionado en Watukarere. Very secluded and quiet. The private villa with pool was spectacular as were the ocean views. The food from the restaurant was properly prepared and good. Since it was low season, they were out of quite a few menu items.

Mario Hotel and Cafe se encuentra en Weetebula, a 15 min a pie de Playa Mananga Aba, y ofrece alojamiento con piscina al aire libre, parking privado gratis, jardín y restaurante. What a gem in Sumba. A slice of paradise. All the staff were amazing and particularly Aloysius William who was painstakingly thorough in helping me navigate flights after the airport was shut due to volcanic ash. He kept me updated with news on flights which was so comforting. Dewi was also amazing but then all of the staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool is a gem and the beach is pristine and perfect for early morning walk. I wil be back!

El Padadita Beach Hotel ofrece alojamiento en Waingapu frente a la playa y disfruta de vistas al mar. On the beach but tides get high and not much walking. We had a Seaview with big balcony. Free airport shuttle

Oro Beach Houses está en Weetebula y ofrece vistas al jardín, jardín, zona de playa privada, salón de uso común, terraza y restaurante. This place is magic ! Mama Noni is so welcoming, the house is very beautiful and the team so helpful ! The homestay is in a remote area, next to an amazing beach. The bungalows are cosy and confortable, scooters are available to go around to visit Sumba, and last but not least, the food is super delicious. We had an amazing stay!
