The view! The hotel restaurant is pricey (10% tip included) but it's super nice, good steak, and the employees were super nice. 1st real hot shower in Costa Rica! It's close enough to La Fortuna (30 min), but not too close. Very quiet. You do not need a 4x4 to get here, like I read in some reviews, if you are coming from La Fortuna, you just need to pay attention to the potholes.

It is a stunning place, with a breathtaking view of the lake and volcano. The staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Fabian is an absolute star, I highly recommend a massage with him, it was by far the best experience I have had. The restaurant team are also fabulous, thanks to Juan and the ladies for making delicious food and being very hospitable. We really didn't want to leave, it was a perfect end to our 10 day trip in Costa Rica.

Absolute amazing view from the property, it was worth every cent staying here. The hosts were very friendly and the son of the host even drove me to La Fortuna and gave me a lot of tips. I stayed in a cool little cabin with a fan and had a nice view from my bed. Breakfast was very good, nice portion and juice. They also have cute cats and dogs

Really pleasant stay with Sergio and his partner (very sorry to forget her name!) House is well kept and you feel relaxed there. Sergio was very helpful with advice on the area of where to go and very pleasant to talk with in general. Would recommend!

Wow. What can I say about my short stay at Birds and Breakfast? It wasn't long enough! I will definitely be coming back. Fabio, Marcela, and the rest of the staff were very welcoming right upon check-in. Their place has endless pictures, books, maps, and even souvenirs. I appreciated Fabio and Marcela's knowledge of the species and also recommendations of activities as I often asked them for suggestions. The breakfast was the best we had in all of Costa Rica! And, the view made us want to just stay there all day. I look forward to recommending this place to others and staying here when I am back in the area.
