Beyond our expectations. We could go on endlessly about this charming place. Everything was spotlessly clean, so many little extras, our host, Viv, was an utter delight to speak with. Breakfast was not only perfectly cooked, but was enough to feed an army. If you like small establishments, friendly, comfortable, spacious rooms, modern facilities, spotless everywhere, vegan (I'd recommend it to non-vegans too), quiet, there are just too many positive aspects to list.

Situated in New Quay, in a historic building, 36 km from Clarach Bay, Beechwood House is a bed and breakfast with a garden and terrace.

The owners were so incredibly welcoming and helpful. Our room had a shower but I saw there was a separate bathroom next to our room and I asked if I could use the bath. I was immediately told yes, not a problem. The bathroom actually came with another room but that room wasn't booked for that night. Our room was classed as a small double but it had everything we needed. The mattress, pillows and bed linens were very comfortable and we both slept well. In the morning we could choose from a selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and pastry items before being served a delicious hot cooked breakfast. The coffee was served in a French Press and was of a fabulous quality and taste. So good we had a 2nd pot. When we are back staying in the area, we would definitely want to stay here again.

I had a fantastic time at Five Oaks B&B. The location is simply beautiful – tucked away in a peaceful, green setting yet just a short walk from the beach and New Quay. The host was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. It’s clear they put real care into making guests feel at home. The host was so welcoming even though we were a last minute booking. Very accommodating, helpful and friendly. The room was lovely.

Where do I start? We had an excellent stay at Chris‘ farm. The whole house is super clean and beautifully decorated. Chris was a wonderful host, who provided us with interesting information about the area but also his farm. In the mornings, he prepared delicious breakfast, also offered and took his time to show us around his property. We were allowed to meet all animals and even help him milk one of the goats. This stay was truly a once in a lifetime experience and we really couldn’t recommend a stay at this place enough. Unfortunately, his wife was on a business trip and therefore we couldn’t meet her. Even though we were on a farm, our sleep was not disturbed by the noise of the various animals. Every room smelled delightful and our room came with a spacious bathroom and a large sitting room (including various books and a fireplace). Next time in Wales, we will definitely return!
