Oh my god, where to start? This place is FANTASTIC! We arrived in off season at what I think is a ski lodge, but Karuizawa is a fantastic place to visit in summer. The building is so cute and the rooms are lovely, the setting is fantastic, and the owner, Suzuki (I hope I got your name right!) is lovely. She offered to take us up and down from the nearby station if we needed (although it's also possible to walk), and went to great pains to make our stay as comfortable as it could be. They even have a cute cat!

We had such a lovely time at Corner Shop. We stayed in the tatami mat room which was perfect for us, the rooms are so spacious, beautifully laid out and we had a view out onto the mountain. The toilet and shower room were also very clean and spacious. There is also a small kitchen with sink, kettle, fridge and crockery that we could use. The guest house is above a cafe/shop/bar with a really nice atmosphere and the staff were so friendly, kind and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, this was the best place we have stayed in Japan and we will definitely be recommending it to friends! Miyota is a great location in a stunning landscape. It is easily accessible by train from Tokyo and there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance of Corner Shop.

Cozy place with really nice traditional tatami floors combined with a great kitchen and other modern amenities. Host is an absolute legend, really went out of his way to improve your stay. Couldn't recommend more!

After five weeks in Japan having breakfast cross country I can say that this was the best breakfast we had. Home cooked and presented with pride for the products they use. The owners are the sweetest people we have met during our trip. Would recommend to stay here with exclamation marks (!).

Sweetest accomodation! It’s located a small walk away from the city. The breakfast was included and a lady played piano during it. Superclean, everyone was very welcoming.
