We stayed there during our roadtrip through Japan and eventhough the house looked bit in a state from the outside, inside it is fully renovated and comfy with many electrical gadgets (i like the move operated garbage bin, hehe). We could park right in front of the house. It's a good starting point for exploring Nikko National Park. Also the owner is super helpful and I coudl feel he really feels invested in providing super care. Would love to return one day for sure!

It is a Japanese traditional house homestay with tatami which located only 5 mins walk from the train station. We got a big room as there were 4 of us. The room is spacious which is sufficient to open all of our luggages. The owner Mariko-san is very friendly as she took good care of us. She drove us to the bridge and prepared different types of breakfast for 2 days. She also gave us souvenirs which made by herself. We felt like home throughout our stay.

I absolutely adored my stay at this place. The owner was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. Her breakfast was plentiful and absolutely delicious. The location is conveniently close to the station. The bedroom was cozy, with a comfortable bed ensuring a restful sleep. Everything about the experience was just perfect! Super kind host, it seems that she absolutely loves what she is doing. Very helpful, gave us a lot of information so we could easily navigate the area in no time, even drove us to town to start exploring. She made us tasty breakfast free of charge, asked what we like and it was no problem that we are vegetarian. Look up ikkigai – that's what you experience there in action.

Awesome stay! Satoshi and Elizabeth were warm and wonderful hosts. The food cooked by Satoshi (very last minute) was also spectacular, and the dessert (home made ice-cream made by Satoshi) was amazing. The room was warm and clean and there was a very nice Kotatsu to use. The outdoor Onsen was also spectacular and heated perfectly! Definitely will stay again and highly recommend for everyone to try!

Lovely, clean and quiet place. Izumi was a great host. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. We had the privilege to see a mother deer with its fawn from our deck, it was spectacular. We highly recommend this beautiful stay.

Location is very good, close to most of the main temples in the area and a few nice restaurants nearby. The hotel is simple yet charming and well kept and the private Japanese bath is a plus. Staff is friendly.

Quiet scenic location. Everything walking distance. There are several restaurants near by. We didn’t have breakfast at the property so can’t comment. Lovely private onsen. First come first serve. Next to the river so can watch the river flowing by from the onsen. Kanmangafuchi Abyss starts at the hotel. Don’t miss it.

Great hosts who went out of their way to make our stay very comfortable. Spotless house, quiet location, beautiful touches to make it feel homely, an awesome bath that stays hot and fills automatically- the best bath I have ever had! Hosts had information including timetables for buses, shows at edo wonderland at their finger tips. Walking distance - 5mins to bus stop and only 10mins tops to train station. Host also took us to the train station in their private car - very friendly, polite and helpful. Loved our stay and wish we stayed longer.
