This is the best place we have been in Sri Lanka. In terms of value for money, service and amenities. Which we noticed is that they are attention to details in every aspect. We really felt like home . We had dinner at Appleton, where I was super surprised with their reasonable price. Which’s the half of price we spent for lunch in Nuwaraeliya city center. Few things you should know when you travel Nuwara eliya. If you travel by your own vehicle there is no better place than this. This located between Nanuoya railway station and Nuwarael iya town. From the Appleton Villa to Nuwareliya town is exactly 5.9 Km which is 15 min to city center. What make you feel like as far is when the driver doesn’t know the road or else some Tuk Tuk driver want to charge extra that is why. Always take advise from the staff then you will be saved. Nuwara eliya itself is not a place to stay more than 2 days specially raining time. Overall we are quite happy with star class services.

We were greeted by the family. The young man helped carry our bags into the room. He offered us tea and coffee. He was very polite and helpful. He did his job with heart and love. The accommodation is in the mountains at an altitude of about 2000m. In the evenings the temperature drops to about 15C. You need to wear a jacket in the evenings. The locals also wear wool hats. But this is clearly unnecessary. Double fleeces for sleeping in the room. It's good to be able to wear a blouse with longer sleeves if you're afraid of the cold. The room is nice and clean. Comfortable beds. TV in the room. Common dining area for three rooms with fridge. Breakfast was made by the hostess. It was delicious: toast, jam, butter, sausages, fruit, pancakes, jackfruit sauce on bread.

We loved our stay here. The family that run the place made us feel right at home. They served us breakfast and dinner in their dining room. They were very sweet to our little kids and we had a great stay. They were also able to accommodate my husbands many food intolerances. There is a shared area outside the room with a fridge, table and tea and coffee making facilities that was handy.

The room was super clean and nice, and the hosting family exceptionally helpful even in Sri Lankan standards. They helped arrange the trips we wanted for the cheapest available price and took care of us when we caught a flu. The breakfast was superb and abundant. Just typing this here for extra info before you book: there’s no AC in the room, but you really don’t need one in Nuwara Eliya, so don’t let that keep you from booking :) Another point about the location: It’s in the edge of town, but there’s a handy pedestrian short cut and only ten minute walk so definitely no need for tuktuk. We walked to all the main attractions within the city: Gregory lake, Lovers leap waterfall and Single tree hill. Would definitely stay again.

Very friendly family, Subodini is a great host .We had blankets as it was a large change in climate from Aragum bay. Nice lounge area to share and breakfast was really enjoyable.
