Irene and her husband created a warm-hearted and authentic place just beneath the Nativity church in the heart of Bethlehem. You will live in an 200 years old house in a newly reconstructed room which gives you the intense feeling of having changed time (although enjoying the amenities of modern times). Everything is made individually: From the warm welcome, to the room and the served breakfast (the bread comes from a little bakery beneath). On top the owners will tell you about all necessary sites of the city but - more important - about daily life (and traditions) of (Christian) Palestinians and their families. Learned a lot! The place is highly recommended and is truly a "hidden champion" in Bethlehem for everybody who likes to experience Bethlehem the authentic way!

Farah Locanda is a beautifully-restored old town house, and a genuine treasure. The team are wonderful and extremely knowledgeable about the area. Definitely get recommendations of where to eat and do a foodie tour. And make sure to have at least one meal in the hotel.

We felt very welcome here, after we quite late in the evening booked a room. Our room was fine and quiet at night. The kitchen facilities was good, with a usable kitchen and a hang out area. We were only staying in Bethlehem for one night, but we would go back here if we come back.

Lovely, authentic accommodation in a peaceful location surrounded by lemon trees. Huge double room with en-suite. Bed very comfortable & perfectly clean. There is a very large kitchen/ sitting room area with Tv & washing machine next door. As a solo traveller I felt very safe there. Exceptional host Soad goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need.

Nabil and his family are the best hosts I have ever encountered in all my travels. They have a feeling for what their guests want and need. I was travelling on my own over Christmas and was very happy to stay here - the house is warm and welcoming, the rooms incredibly clean and nice, the bed comfy and the bathroom had a fantastic hot shower and I didn't miss a thing. The location is perfect, 2 mins walk to Manger Square. Honestly, if you read this and consider booking - do it. You won't be disappointed.

Great place :) Nothing was missing. Owner of the place even ordered me a taxi when I needed it. The place is ~2 km from the city center - quite far from all the tourist spots and is located in the neighborhood of local people. There is no public transport and you either have to walk or travel by taxi, which are quite expensive. But don't give in to stereotypes about Palestine and its people. The people are helpful and everyone speaks some English. Owner very quickly responds to your needs either on whatsapp or through Booking.com messages.

If you are looking for a stay in an authentic building, this is the place for you. The room I stayed in was like a mini hobbit room. The ceiling is very low, so if you are tall, you will have to watch your head, if you stay in this specific room. It was nice and cosy. There is a TV with some great arab channels that will show you the beauty of the land and culture, also insight into what is and has been happening in Palastine. The location was great. It was right next to the mosque of Omar and the church of nativity. It can be a little noisy outside until around 12-1am but I had some ear plugs and slept well. The beds were comfortable, and there is a heater you can use if you get cold. The host was amazing. You can get his WhatsApp number, and he will come to you if there are any issues or if you need any help. I will definitely come back here. The locals are all so helpful and friendly and will make you feel welcome. There is street food around the corner, I paid 15 ILS (apox 4.50) for falafel and fresh orange juice. Saamii, the local tea man, has all kinds of fresh herbs and Arabic coffee he will receive whatever money you can give him but 4 to 5 ILS is good ✨️ Restaurants may be more expensive. TRAVEL: From Jerusalem to Bethlehem, you can get bus number 231 opposite Damascus gate. It costs 5.50 ILS (£1.50) for a single trip. You get off at the last stop. This bus will take you straight into Bethlehem, not to Racheal's Tomb. When you get there, you can walk 25 minutes to the hostel, or you can get a taxi close to the hostel but only pay 20 ILS (£5) and no more. On the way back, it is the same bus stop to get back into Jerusalem, and you will stop at a checkpoint on the way back, so make sure you have your blue tourist card and passport ready.
