Great shared facilities such as private onsen, Nintendo switch games, massage chair/leg machine, and Dyson hair dryers. Breakfasts every morning were different and delicious. Beds and comforters were very comfortable. Always greeted with a friendly smile, and we were dropped off at the bus terminal when we left.

The place itself is beautiful and really felt like a home. It is close to shuttles to both the ski fields and the nightlife. I would not stay anywhere else if i returned. It was an authentic, relaxing Japanese stay.

Hakuba Skala Inn has both Western rooms and Japanese rooms, which have traditional futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. All rooms are heated. Location was great, beside a bus pickup spot and also next to another hotel with a public onsen. Room was clean with plenty of room. Breakfast was humble and delicious. Osamu-san was friendly and nice enough to pick us up for arrivals.
