馬籠ふるさと学校 Magome Furusato Gakkou bevindt zich in Nakatsugawa, op minder dan 1 km van Toson Memorial Museum, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een gedeelde lounge en een terras. This was such a cool experience. The building is very nice. All the beautiful wood and features. Taking your shoes off at entree, sliding doors, gymnasium, kitchen. Amazing. Even more amazing was the staff. The explained every thing well, gave recommendations for food and travel. I even got lucky and hitched a ride back to Nakatsugawa, with a perfect pitstop at Hillbilly Coffee (highly recommend). I stayed here after walking Nakasendo Trail from Tsumago. Perfect place to stay after. Do not hesitate. Go here. Book!

熱海温泉 実の別荘 bevindt zich in Atami, op 19 minuten lopen van Atami Sun Beach en 27 km van station Hakone-Yumoto, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie en... The hosts were fluent in English, Chinese and Japanese, which made it possible for us to relax and feel our needs were understood. The place is beautifully outfitted, spotlessly clean, and very convenient.

さかのみち-sakanomichi ligt in Nakatsugawa en heeft een gedeelde lounge, een restaurant, een bar, en gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie. I'm afraid my words will not be enough to express how much I loved my stay here. Kenさん and Yukiさん were extremely welcoming. I enjoyed my conversations with them, learning about Magome-juku, umeshu, and many other things despite my very lacking Japanese skills. When it was time for me to leave and embark on my hike to Tsumago-juku, they ran after me to give me a bottle of iced water to help me with the summer heat. I almost teared up from their kindness. I was on a solo trip for my birthday and they gave me the most memorable moment of my trip. Other things to note about this guesthouse: Room: I'm not sure about the other rooms but I secured the best one. It had an amazing view of Magome-juku. There is only a futon but it was very comfortable. The room is air-conditioned and although not sound-proof, Magome is quiet and you can hear the peaceful sounds of water flowing through the canals at night. Shared spaces: The shared spaces include the dining area, living area, toilets, showers, and an indoor bath. There is also a laundry area which you can use for a small fee (about 500 yen if I'm not mistaken). Reception is not 24/7 and the lights out is at 10pm I think. The shared spaces are not only clean, but they're also beautifully designed! Lots of dried flowers as decoration. Meals: You can opt to have dinner and breakfast here again for a small fee. Dinner is Indian curry and let me just say-- it was delicious! I had the spicy chicken keema, although personally I wish it was a bit spicier. The homemade yogurt was simply amazing. Breakfast is a simple spread of eggs, bread, yogurt, cereals, a variety of fruits, and drinks such as homemade juice and coffee from the coffee shop down the street. This was again very good and I enjoyed it more than I expected. I feel like Magome is a one-time destination because of its size, but I definitely want to come back and stay at sakanomichi again!

A very kind and hospitable host who left us many thoughtful gifts — coffee, candies, and even ice cream in the fridge! The room was cozy and comfortable, and we especially loved the couches. The bath was a real treat after a long day of walking. We only stayed one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer — it’s such a lovely place!

簡易宿所 ふくろく ligt in Shingu, op minder dan 1 km van Kamikura Shrine, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. The owner was very nice, helpful and generous. She gave me everything I need to have for my trip, e.g. travel info, tips and comfort, which I felt being at home. Thank you very much!

長徳寺宿坊 Temple Hotel ligt in Shingu, op 5 minuten lopen van Kamikura Shrine en 700 meter van Kumano Hayatama Taisha, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie en gratis... It’s a self-contained 1-room apartment, complete with kitchen and shower-room. All modern. Beautiful clean tatami floor and comfortable futons. Amazingly, as an extra welcome, the kitchen is stocked with a selection of local drinks (including Wakayama-produced saké). The owner met us on arrival, explained everything clearly. All in all, if i come back to Shingu i will definitely want to stay here again.

AJITO Hostel & CafeBar bevindt zich in Shingu, op 2,9 km van Ojigahama Beach, en biedt accommodatie met gratis fietsen, gratis privéparkeren en een bar. The room and facilities are clean. The location is very good. It’s near the bus stop and the convenience store. And if you wake up early like me and there’s no bus at that time, you still able walk to the Shingu station. The hostel has 4 bicycles to be borrowed with no charge. You can ride it around the city.

Guesthouse Ise Futami ligt in Ise, op 8,6 km van Ise Jingū-schrijn en 8,2 km van Oharai-machi, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie en gratis... de gene die het runt is erg vriendelijk en is echt tot veel bereid. Wij waren er veel eerder dan verwacht en via Booking even een berichtje gedaan. al snel kwam er iemand onze kant op en konden we onze bagage achter laten en een fiets te huren. Hier dus de omgeving al vrij vroeg kunnen verkennen dankzij de snelle service.

YOMOGI GUESTHOUSE ligt in Tokoname, op 1,7 km van Rinku Beach, en biedt een tuin, rookvrije kamers, gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie en een gedeelde lounge. Everything was perfect. Great atmosphere, friendliness off the chart. Beautiful building and friendly guests to boot! The kitchen was clean and fully-equipped too, which made for an event better experience!
