Fantastic location, right on Uwanodai slope - actual ski-in ski-out. Host was extremely friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant was great and good value. Nice draught beer! Shower in room with a shared hot bath that could be booked for free. There's a ski/boot room in the basement that opens onto the slope. The decor is a bit dated but in a very charming way.

Shukubo Kanbayashi Katsukane se encuentra en Tsuruoka, a 24 km de Acuario Kamo Aquarium, y ofrece alojamiento con wifi gratis y parking privado gratis. The hotel located right next to Zuishinmon so it’s very easy to hike Mt.Haguro from this location and also close to bus stop as well. The room is traditional Japanese room with futon and also air conditioner. The place has a shared bathroom and washroom. The food was very delicious. I had a very pleasant stay despite it was raining for two days straight. The lady who runs the hotel is also very helpful and kind towards a foreigner like me. Very recommended for people who would like to experience proper Japanese stays.

If only I could rate the hotel more than a 5 star, I will. 1. The owner/host both are so accommodating, helpful and is super kind. I experiences the real Japan omotenashi (hospitality) thru them. Especially the lady owner, she goes a long way to make your stay comfortable and as convenient as it is. She even help call a reservatuon for taxi. 2. The accommodation feels homey. Clean, comfortable and spacious. I slept in a Japanese style room that has futon and Kotatsu. The kotatsu is so comfortable that you dont want to get off them. The Heating is also excellent so the room is warm. 3. The room is equipped with air cleaner, fridge, tv & there is also available himidifier that you can use if needed. Basic amenities are provided too and a yukata. There is a common toilet on the second floor and so as the basement. Microwave is also available for use if you warm your food and the owner can lend you plates and utensils. 4. The nearest onsen is 3 minutes by foot and the owner will give you the 100¥ coupon discount if you use the nearest day onsen spa. 5. The location is perfect just a minute walk to the main ropeway station that’ll take you to the snow monster. 5 minutes walk to the convenience store, 7 minutes walk to the bus terminal and has few good restaurants around. 6. The breakfast is also delicious and hearty. The hotel has big dry room for your ski/snowboard gears and cheaper ski lift tickets if you buy from the hotel. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely come back again next winter season.

This is truly the best place to stay!!! The most amazing hosts, fabulous big breakfast and nothing is ever too much trouble - they are so kind! They picked us up from the bus stop, took us to hire our ski gear, sorted our ski passes and dropped us at the slopes and picked us up! Their hospitality is the best in Japan! The accommodation is sooo cosy and warm! The beds are really comfortable and we loved everything about our stay! You can not find better hosts! It is our second time staying here and we will definitely be back again! Highly recommend staying here!

I had a great time at Daichan Farm. I felt very welcomed and was provided everything I needed. I ordered breakfast and it was super delicious. Would recommend staying here again!

Yamagata Zao Pension Aplon Stage es un alojamiento de 3 estrellas que está en Kaminoyama, a 2,3 km de Estación de esquí Zao Onsen, y que tiene jardín, terraza y restaurante. This is a great pension run by a lovely family. The husband picked us up at the bus station and drove us to the pension and also took us to the slopes in the morning. They gave us a coupon for renting gear and a map explaining the different onsen options around town. Their English is pretty limited, but they are happy to use Google translate. Also, it was not a big deal, but I think it is important for foreign guests to be aware that ski culture in Japan sort of assumes you are eating dinner at your accommodation. We did not know this and did not book dinner at the hotel. Most restaurants in town were fully booked with reservations (although there is a convenience store with good takeaway food), so try to book dinner at the hotel or make a dinner reservation somewhere well in advance. We were very luck and managed to make a reservation at the Mongolian lamb place Kasheru for the second night and that was amazing. But we saw restaurants turning people away repeatedly because everywhere in town was full. Also, the family will not pick you up by car any later that 6:45 pm (perfectly reasonable) and the public ski shuttles don't run on weekdays, so you need to pre-book a taxi if dinner will end later than that (which it probably will since most restaurants open at 6 pm). And there are not a lot of taxis and no Uber. I wish I had realized all of this up front, but that was our own ignorance and our stay was great regardless. Again, this is just the local ski culture and not the hotel's fault. It's just helpful information for future guests.

It’s a 10 mi it drive by taxi or public transport. The room has everything you need from amenities to basic kitchen supplies , kettle , toaster , microwave , fridge and washing mashing . Super specious room can accommodate a large family . Private toilet and shower with amenities cold/hot water and SUPER CLEAN. Confortable beds , a/c and air purifier. So basically you get it all for a good price . Host is amazing . They are they for you with super fast communication and support . Smooth check in process with friendly staff who shows you around and provides you with all details about the property . You are provided with supplies for next day brakefast and they even pamper you with a delicious ice cream on arrival . They place is a KEEPER. You just need to plan property your time table if you wanna move around with public transport since it’s limited in the area . Don’t be fooled about the looks of the façade since it’s a small property

The man who lives in this house was perhaps the kindest person I have ever met on my travels. The place is very simple, and you get what you pay for. I thought it was pretty comfortable and the room was quite big. For the price, I think it is really good but it is quite an old house and tough to get to. But I was very grateful to the host, he drove me all the way to the station for no charge as I had lost my wallet and he let me sleep in until whenever I wanted. He was a very lovely man and I hope he gets a lot of business!
